Dr. Hao Yu, is an assistant professor of mathematics at Tusculum. He holds a Ph.D. in Fish and Wildlife Conservation and M.S. in Statistics at Virginia Tech. Dr. Yu worked previously as an assistant research scientist at University of Maryland studying ecological impacts of changing ecosystem using statistical models and remote sensing techniques.
Dr. Yu has unique teaching experiences in both China and the United States. He was a lecturer at the Jimei University in China for three years. He taught Statistics to students who needed to learn statistical methods at Virginia Tech and University of Maryland.
Dr. Yu has published a number of papers and also served as a peer reviewer for multiple scientific journals. His research interests include but are not limited to: spatial analysis, sampling designs, additive models, mixed models, and machine learning techniques.
