Ms Griffith has worked at the Tusculum Library since July 2001. She earned her Bachelors of Music Education and Masters of Music from Morehead State University, Morehead, KY. She earned her Masters of Science in Information Science from the University of Tennessee in 2006.
A native of Greenup, KY, Marsha was an elementary music teacher in Ashland, KY. She later lived in San Diego, CA for 15 years where she was a full time professional musician, singing and playing the piano. Upon moving back to eastern Kentucky, Marsha continued to perform in the region and also owned and operated Griffith Silk Screen in Greenup, KY before becoming a librarian. She worked as an Information Specialist at the Boyd Co. Public Library in Ashland, KY
She is an amateur film historian with a library of over 500 books and films on the history of classic Hollywood cinema. She and her partner, drummer Amy Saxonmeyer, perform throughout the Tri-Cities region as the musical group “The Smooth Sounds of Route 66”. Also a lover of old cars and everything retro, you may see Miss Griffith driving to work in her vintage 1961 Ford Falcon Station Wagon or in her 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible.
