Rebecca Brown holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lenoir Rhyne College in North Carolina. She also holds professional licensure in both North Carolina and Tennessee.
Previously Ms. Brown was an associate professor of nursing at Walters State Community College and has worked as a clinical nurse specialist at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. She has also been an assistant professor at East Tennessee State University and a clinical instructor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has been the recipient of the Walters State Distinguished Faculty Award.
Ms. Brown has served as chairperson for the Nursing Department Testing Committee at Walters State and as a Walters State Health Programs’ Division eLearn Mentor. She is a member of the National League for Nursing and the Tennessee Organization of Associate Degree Nurses. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Phi Kappa Phi. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Asbury Child Enrichment Center and the advisory board of the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
