Master of Arts students make research presentations

On June 22, eight students in Tusculum College’s Master of Arts in organizational training and education presented their research projects to an audience of College faculty, staff and students, as well as members of the public.

Michelle Arbogast ’09 discussed factors that led to delayed college entry among high school students, while Anna Hensley ’09 covered college faculty’s utilization of instructional technology and Jeremy Jones made a presentation about how employee training at Tennessee Boys & Girls Clubs impacts club members.

Vickie Long ’08 presented research that compared effectiveness of female versus male leaders and Cheryl McKesson’s examined the impact of patient education on reducing pre-cardiac catheterization anxiety.  Keyton Wheelon discussed the use and effectiveness of visualization training in college athletics; while Pamela Whittenburg covered fraud awareness in Greene County and Ricky Whittenburg ’05 ’08 investigated stress management techniques used by debt collectors in East Tennessee.

Dr. Melanie Narkawicz, associate professor of research, supervised the students during their investigations which took place over the past year and are a part of the accelerated master’s degree program offered by Tusculum’s Graduate and Professional Studies program for working adults.
