ASafeHarborHome, Inc. and Tusculum College students to launch massive community-wide domestic violence awareness campaign

Starting this week, ASafeHarborHome, Inc. and Tusculum College Bonner Leaders will launch the most significant local non-profit domestic violence awareness campaign of the year.  The campaign, “Stop. Turn on the Lights!” aims at engaging the whole community in taking a stand and a concrete step toward eradicating domestic violence.

This week, the whole Tusculum College community will become part of a massive social media campaign focused on sharing the support toward the fight against domestic violence.  In doing so, every supporter will be wearing ASafeHarborHome’s official “Stop Domestic Violence” wristband, taking individual and group pictures and uploading them to ASafeHarborHome’s Facebook page.

From athletic teams, to student organizations, and the student body at large as well as faculty and staff, the Tusculum community is joining together to provide support for the cause.

In addition, ASafeHarborHome volunteers will be out in the community, sharing information and looking for individuals and/or groups wanting to take a stand against domestic violence.

If you are a student and/or community member who wants to support the cause and be part of this massive community-wide movement and campaign, make sure to call 423-289-4547 or visit ASafeHarborHome’s thrift store, Charity Treasures, located at 112 Austin Street, off of Tusculum Blvd. in Greeneville.

Domestic violence is not a private matter, it is a crime.
