Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Financial Aid Counselor to counsel students and their families on how to cover the costs for a Tusculum College education, including all sources of assistance and the delivery system for financial aid. This is a full time position supportive of enrollment growth for traditional aged and adult students on the Greeneville campus, and three approved off-site locations in Kingsport, Knoxville, and Morristown. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial aid while maintaining mandatory compliance with internal policies, as well as, state and federal guidelines and laws. This position requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and strong coordination and communication with various offices including the Business Office, Registrar, and Athletics. Applicants must have a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service, be a team player andthe ability and willingness to travel to each of the off-sites for student outreach events. Some evening and weekend work will be required as needed.


Bachelor’s Degree required and experience in financial aid or higher education is preferred. Applicants must possess effective interpersonal, oral, listening, and written communication skills; an outgoing personality; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; a flexible attitude; professionalism, customer service skills, and a willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed. This comprehensive position requires experience coordinating multiple projects, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills to be successful. Extensive knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and analytical and problem solving skills are also required.
