Facility Management Level III Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is accepting applications for a Facility Management Level III.  This position reports to Director of Facilities Management.  The successful applicant must be capable of performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, construction, painting, and installation. This position inspects, maintains and repairs the college’s building structures and fixtures for administrative buildings, athletic facilities, staff housing, residential housing, and other institutional buildings for efficient operations.

Student Life Coordinator Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic full-time professional to join our team as a Student Life Coordinator.  This position will report to the Associate Dean of Students and provide vision, strategic direction and supervision for the Department’s Life and Orientation programs. We seek an individual who can translate a keen understanding of current student development philosophy into effective programs, interventions and mentoring of students.  At Tusculum, we are re-imagining our student life programs and the person assuming this position will play an integral and creative role in this effort. Central to our efforts is the intention to create and facilitate distinctive, engaging conditions throughout the residential campus that intentionally increases a student’s capacity for cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal complexity in ways that are distinctive to a Tusculum education.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s is preferred. The successful candidate will be creative, thoughtful, and able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives, through a twelve-month live-in position in a tightly integrated team environment. The successful candidate will be able to reside in on-campus housing to support environmental management and emergency on-call roles.  Applicants must have a working knowledge of the theory and practice of student affairs management in a liberal arts college and of modern principles and practices of counseling and assessment with the ability to develop and implement short and long-range plans to meet department needs and goals.  Applicants must also have a strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and to the general public.

Assistant Financial Aid Counselor Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Financial Aid Counselor to counsel students and their families on how to cover the costs for a Tusculum College education, including all sources of assistance and the delivery system for financial aid. This is a full time position supportive of enrollment growth for traditional aged and adult students on the Greeneville campus, and three approved off-site locations in Kingsport, Knoxville, and Morristown. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial aid while maintaining mandatory compliance with internal policies, as well as, state and federal guidelines and laws. This position requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and strong coordination and communication with various offices including the Business Office, Registrar, and Athletics. Applicants must have a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service, be a team player andthe ability and willingness to travel to each of the off-sites for student outreach events. Some evening and weekend work will be required as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree required and experience in financial aid or higher education is preferred. Applicants must possess effective interpersonal, oral, listening, and written communication skills; an outgoing personality; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; a flexible attitude; professionalism, customer service skills, and a willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed. This comprehensive position requires experience coordinating multiple projects, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills to be successful. Extensive knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and analytical and problem solving skills are also required.

Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking to fill the position of Director of Alumni and Parent Relations. This is a regular full-time position, working with the Office of Institutional Advancement. Duties will include leading alumni and parent relations for the College, including Homecoming and Family Weekend, and providing support for the Alumni Executive Board.  The Director is responsible for programs to increase alumni and parent engagement with the College.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree a plus. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of at least five years of successful, progressively responsible experience in building positive, engaging and productive relationships, as well as experience in managing large events on a budget, and at least three years’ supervisory and management experience.  Experience in fund raising, especially in higher education, is a plus.  Ability to work evenings and weekends; flexibility in work hours is required. Some overnight travel is required.

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the Director of Development, a key position in the Office of Institutional Advancement focused on overseeing the day-to-day fund raising operations and raising money. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day fund raising operations of the College, with specific responsibility for managing a portfolio of high-level annual fund donors, business solicitations, volunteer management, and direct mail.  The Director of Development will have oversight of the annual fund, including phonathon, Foundation and Donor Relations.  Overnight travel and some evening and weekend work are required.
