The School of Nursing at Tusculum College is seeking a Bachelor degreed Nurse with 2 years experience in an acute care clinical setting to provide clinical and simulation laboratory instruction to nursing students and maintain the working condition of the nursing and simulation labs and equipment. This position will be responsible for planning, initiating, directing, and facilitating activities in the nursing and simulating labs as well as collecting and collating data related to student learning outcomes. The Lab Coordinator is to be committed to excellence in teaching and is expected to contribute toward the good of the College through the maintenance of expertise in the discipline, and sharing time and talents with the larger College community.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred qualifications are an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing. Must have a current and unencumbered license, or be eligible for licensure as a professional register nurse in the State of TN. American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers also required. Experience in higher education and/or working with students and previous experience working with high-tech simulators are preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task. Ability to use technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning are desirable.
Must be able to travel to clinical sites and different campus locations, pass drug screening and extensive background check, lift 30 pounds or more, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, and perform all nursing skills competently, correctly and safely.
