Admissions Communications Data Clerk Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Enrollment is hiring a communications/data clerk position.  The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by processing communication workflows and provide data entry support.  This position requires the individual to sit and stand, stoop and bend for extend periods at a time, wear a headset, have manual dexterity and be able to lift 25-30 lbs.  The position is located at the Tusculum College, Greeneville, TN campus.   The hours are Monday-Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required, however it is imperative that the person selected for this position be flexible.  The starting date is projected for August 11, 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate for this position should have previous office experience.  Excellent oral and customer services are mandatory.  Good record keeping and organizational skills are required.  Applicants must have advanced knowledge of computer programs and software with strong data entry skills, and the ability to work under pressure. A flexible, positive and winning attitude is needed to be successful in this position. Associates degree required, Bachelors preferred.

Student Support Services Associate Director (ARCHES Program) Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director for the Student Support Services’ ARCHES Program (Knoxville site). This is a 12-month, full-time position. Some evening and weekend work is required. This position manages the daily operation of the Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Student Support Services (ARCHES) program. The Associate Director & Counseling Liaison works directly under the guidance of the Director of Student Support Services. Duties include collecting and maintaining data for  Department of Education reporting; performance evaluation of ARCHES staff; collaboration with GPS faculty and staff as necessary for the facilitation of student services; facilitation of DSST testing at Knoxville site; collegiate advising and career planning for ARCHES students; oversight of GPS Coordinator of Academic Support and Tutoring as well as associated Tutoring Center personnel; coordination of financial literacy awareness services for ARCHES students; facilitation of referrals for ARCHES students seeking counseling; collaboration with the College’s Financial Aid Office personnel to promote financial aid awareness among ARCHES students; and general academic support to GPS students college-wide.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in counseling, educational psychology, college student personnel, or related field. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience working with disadvantaged student populations. Candidates must also have two years experience working in higher education as well as first-hand knowledge of collegiate-level advising. Previous TRIO Programs experience preferred.

Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach Comments Off

Tusculum College Athletic Department is seeking applicants for an Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Tusculum College is a member of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference. This position will Perform instruction of lacrosse related skills and strategies to student-athletes while providing strength and conditioning assistance to team, serves, supervises all aspects of work study, and performs various administrative tasks as assigned by the head coach. The ideal candidate will have coaching experience preferably at an NCAA institution and will report to the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. This position will implement and manage all phases of a competitive Division II Lacrosse program in accordance with NCAA, South Atlantic Conference, and Tusculum College regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree is preferred. Collegiate coaching experience is required, with collegiate playing experience preferred. Candidate must be mobile, able to stand, work on feet, communicate verbally, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.  Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage daily office operations in the areas of recruiting, travel, skill instruction, camps/clinics, film exchange, and perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director.

DESCRIPTION:

Located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Greeneville, Tennessee, Tusculum College, Tennessee’s oldest College, seeks an experienced institutional research professional to serve as Director of Institutional Research in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.  Reporting to the Assistant to the President for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, the Director is responsible for coordinating external reporting for the College, and College-wide student assessment using external instruments.  The Director works with a wide range of offices to provide regular and ad hoc data and analysis, and serves as a resource to College on the Colleague data system.  The Director must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work well with various constituencies, and work independently.

The Director of Institutional Research enhances institutional effectiveness by meeting the data and analysis needs of executives, departmental administrators, and faculty.  The Director is responsible for coordinating external reporting for the College to agencies, including IPEDS, NCAA, SACSCOC, TICUA, Petersons, College Board, Yes WE Must, etc.  The Director coordinates College-wide student assessment for all external instruments including Major Field Tests, CAAP, ACAT, NSSE, CIRP, and Noel-Levitz student satisfaction surveys; provides technical assistance in support of departmental test development, survey development, and other data needs and analysis. Assists with preparation of Fact Book, data for annual foundation applications, regular teaching load reports, and other ad hoc requests for data and analysis; and develops databases suitable for longitudinal studies and statistical analysis, such as with student retention.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree is required; institutional research experience preferred.  Applicants must possess excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, databases, SPSS, and SQL.  Experience with Datatel, Colleague or similar systems highly preferred.  Successful applicant must possess effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and with a wide-range of College offices and personnel, and work on multiple projects at a time. Assistant Financial Aid Counselor Comments Off

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Financial Aid Counselor to counsel students and their families on how to cover the costs for a Tusculum College education, including all sources of assistance and the delivery system for financial aid. This is a full time position supportive of enrollment growth for traditional aged and adult students on the Greeneville campus, and three approved off-site locations in Kingsport, Knoxville, and Morristown. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial aid while maintaining mandatory compliance with internal policies, as well as, state and federal guidelines and laws. This position requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and strong coordination and communication with various offices including the Business Office, Registrar, and Athletics. Applicants must have a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service, be a team player andthe ability and willingness to travel to each of the off-sites for student outreach events.
