The Information Systems Department at Tusculum College invites applicants for a full-time staff position in Instructional / Course Design. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse learners. The selected person will provide instructional and program design expertise for the development and support of online courses and specialized distance educational programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting faculty in the design of online coursework/programs and instructional practices, development of learning resources and re-visioning of courses and course segments to electronic delivery methods. They will support the customized development of online courses unique to the needs of the instructor and students. Work is performed under limited supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. This job will also include some training responsibilities on the distance education equipment / software currently in use. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred. Over three years’ experience in course design, curriculum design, training, or e-learning, preferably in higher education. Experience with online course management tools. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and website design software. Experience with distance education hardware technology such as H323 compliant devices and other hardware used in synchronous delivery of educational opportunities.

The School of Business and Technology at Tusculum College invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting. This is a full time faculty position primarily focused at our Greeneville, Tennessee main campus location. Tusculum College provides a liberal arts education in a Judeo-Christian and civic arts environment, with pathways for career preparation, personal development and civic engagement. The School of Business offers four distinct programs, B.A. in Business Administration for traditional residential students, B.S. in Business Administration and B.S. in Management for nontraditional students, and an MBA graduate program.  The last three programs are delivered across multiple sites.  Tusculum College is primarily a teaching institution, and applicants should be committed to teaching excellence.  Tusculum faculty are also expected to advise students, work with adjunct faculty, serve on college committees, participate in curriculum/program development and assessment, serve the local community, and promote the mission of the College and School across all stakeholders. Nursing Minimum:  Minimum qualifications are an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in nursing from an accredited college or university.  Applicants should hold a current and unencumbered registered nurse license, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee; hold current AHA BLS certification, and should successfully clear a criminal background check and drug screening assessments.  If applicants hold a master’s degree in nursing, he/she should be willing to continue their education by earning a doctorate in nursing.

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College, a Presbyterian USA, liberal arts, coeducational institution located in Greeneville, TN, is seeking a dynamic results-oriented Dean for the School of Education. Tusculum is a scenic 140-acre campus nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with three off-site locations in Knoxville, Morristown and Kingsport, TN. The Dean of the School of Education shall be the administrative head of the School and will be responsible for assessment, growth and development of School programs, positive leadership of faculty, and effective operations of all aspects within the School. The Dean of the School of Education will be employed full-time for school administrative purposes.  This position coordinates the work of the School, will serve as the head of the Teacher Education Unit and interpret such work to the internal and external community, and will secure internal and external funding to support the academic programs of the School. This position will also be responsible for developing and implementing all curricula and curricular oversight policies and procedures to ensure School compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree with a major in a discipline area within the School from an accredited university and three years full-time experience in teaching and administration.

Preferred qualifications include five years of successful administrative/teaching experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience in academic program development, grant writing and the promotion of faculty development in teaching, scholarship and service.  Also preferred is possession of the academic credentials for rank of Associate or Full Professor in a discipline in the School.   Professional experience, public school licensure and experience with National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)/State Department of Education accreditation is advantageous.

Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and are offered in the evening or on the weekends in upper East Tennessee.  Prior experience with adult students is preferred as well as experience teaching web-enhanced courses using an on-line course delivery system.
