Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic full-time professional to join our team as a Student Life Coordinator. This position will report to the Associate Dean of Students and provide vision, strategic direction and supervision for the Department’s Life and Orientation programs. We seek an individual who can translate a keen understanding of current student development philosophy into effective programs, interventions and mentoring of students. At Tusculum, we are re-imagining our student life programs and the person assuming this position will play an integral and creative role in this effort. Central to our efforts is the intention to create and facilitate distinctive, engaging conditions throughout the residential campus that intentionally increases a student’s capacity for cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal complexity in ways that are distinctive to a Tusculum education.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s is preferred. The successful candidate will be creative, thoughtful, and able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives, through a twelve-month live-in position in a tightly integrated team environment. The successful candidate will be able to reside in on-campus housing to support environmental management and emergency on-call roles. Applicants must have a working knowledge of the theory and practice of student affairs management in a liberal arts college and of modern principles and practices of counseling and assessment with the ability to develop and implement short and long-range plans to meet department needs and goals. Applicants must also have a strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and to the general public.
