DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking applications for a full-time Registrar. The Registrar’s position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs.  The Registrar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Graduate and Professional Studies and Residential College student registration and records, grade processing, graduation certification, athletic eligibility and veteran’s administration.  The Registrar directly supervises six full-time employees, and will support and promote the mission of Tusculum College to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s preferred. A minimum of five years experience in a registrar’s office setting is preferred. Experience in student data management systems is required, (Colleague experience preferred). In addition, essential required qualifications include demonstrated experience in student records and systems development and implementation. Candidate must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, adapt to changing technology, possess a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, have strong organizational, supervisory and customer service skills, and be self-motivated. The Registrar must possess the ability to enforce college regulations while working with students, staff, and faculty in a very positive and collaborative way. The successful candidate must also possess   excellent interpersonal skills, planning, time management abilities, and the ability to interpret federal law as it applies to student records, and a devotion to academic tradition.

Tusculum College School of Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Talent Development (Human Resource Development). This is a full-time position that will be teaching at the College’s main campus in Greeneville, TN and the other off-site locations in Knoxville, and Morristown. This position will be responsible for developing and teaching face-to-face and online courses for traditional aged and adult students. Some of the classes will be taught in the evening for the Professional Studies Adult Education program. Tusculum College is primarily a teaching institution, and applicants should be committed to teaching excellence. Assistant/Associate Professor Education and Chair of Teacher Preparation Comments Off

Tusculum College School of Education invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Education and Chair of Teacher Preparation. This is a full-time position that combines leadership of the Teacher Preparation Department and teaching at the College’s main campus in Greeneville, TN and the other off-site locations in Knoxville, and Morristown. As leader of the teacher preparation academic programs, the Department Chair is responsible for the overall direction of the programs.  Attuned to the institutional and societal contexts affecting current and potential programs within the unit, the Department Chair coordinates and motivates the efforts of program coordinators and faculty to respond creatively to these contexts.  The Chair ensures the effective implementation of the department’s goals through allocation and management of resources, appropriate initiatives for external funding, and evaluation of the quality of programs and related services.  The Chair schedules and presides over regular meetings of faculty teaching in the department and programs associated with the department.  The Department Chair is responsible for coordinating activities by members of the faculty to promote student recruitment and retention.

The Department Chair works with the Dean to coordinate the use of budgeted funds to ensure appropriate staffing within the department (e.g., balance of full-time, part-time, and overload) and provide information regarding areas within the department that requires additional staffing.  The Chair coordinates course offerings within the department to meet the instructional needs of the department as well as ensure the course offerings are scheduled in a manner that benefits students completing programs.

The Department Chair ensures that department and program planning is consistent with the missions of the institution and the School of Education and evaluates the assessment efforts of the department and programs to ensure that results yield meaningful information which is used in ongoing planning.  The Department Chair works closely with the Dean and faculty in recommending and implementing program improvements.

In addition to Chair responsibilities, this position will be responsible for developing and teaching face-to-face and online courses for traditional aged and adult students. Some of the classes will be taught in the evening for the Professional Studies Adult Education program. Nursing Minimum:  Minimum qualifications are an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in nursing from an accredited college or university and certification as a family nurse practitioner.  Applicants should hold a current and unencumbered registered nurse license, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee; hold certification as a family nurse practitioner, hold current AHA BLS certification, and should successfully clear a criminal background check and drug screening assessments.  If applicants hold a master’s degree in nursing, he/she should be willing to continue their education by earning a doctorate in nursing.

Telecounselors Comments Off

DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Admission is currently seeking applications for three telecounseling positions that will work evenings 16-20 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by contacting prospective students of the College to educate them about scholarship opportunities and other important aspects of the admission process. This position requires the individual to sit for long periods at a time and wear a headset. The hours are Monday –Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, occasional weekend work may be required.

The candidate for this position should have previous office experience and strong data-entry skills with the ability to multi-task. Director of Veteran’s Affairs Comments Off

Tusculum College is seeking applications for a Director of Veteran’s Affairs. This position will develop and sustain outreach activities to attract, enroll, and retain veteran students for enrollment at Tusculum College and coordinate the Veteran’s affairs support group programming at all Tusculum College sites. The Director of Veteran’s Affairs will be responsible for fostering and maintaining outreach relations between the College and military institutions, Veterans Associations, and the surrounding Northeast Tennessee community. Provide training for faculty and staff including Green Zone and PTSD, Coordinate veterans’ programming with Tusculum College offices and organizations, organize and facilitate mentoring opportunities specifically for veterans. This position also acts as a liaison between Tusculum students, faculty, staff and veteran/active duty organizations and area post-secondary institution veterans programs. This position also serves as advisor for Tusculum Military Assistance Group (TMAG), and pursues and secures veterans’ affairs funding opportunities for veterans’ programming, as well as, representing Tusculum College as member of East Tennessee Military Affairs Council (ETMAC), and supervising the Veteran’s Administration (VA)-funded work-study participants.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred. Previous United States Armed Forces honorable service is required, and Veterans affairs experience within higher education, governmental, and/or private sector agencies.  Must be able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, and possess exemplary organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Successful candidates should have excellent written, oral, and public speaking communication skills.
