Tusculum College, a Presbyterian USA, liberal arts, coeducational institution located in Greeneville, TN, is seeking a dynamic results-oriented Dean for the School of Education. Tusculum is a scenic 140-acre campus nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with three off-site locations in Knoxville, Morristown and Kingsport, TN. The Dean of the School of Education shall be the administrative head of the School and will be responsible for assessment, growth and development of School programs, positive leadership of faculty, and effective operations of all aspects within the School. The Dean of the School of Education will be employed full-time for school administrative purposes. This position coordinates the work of the School, will serve as the head of the Teacher Education Unit and interpret such work to the internal and external community, and will secure internal and external funding to support the academic programs of the School. This position will also be responsible for developing and implementing all curricula and curricular oversight policies and procedures to ensure School compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree with a major in a discipline area within the School from an accredited university and three years full-time experience in teaching and administration.
Preferred qualifications include five years of successful administrative/teaching experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience in academic program development, grant writing and the promotion of faculty development in teaching, scholarship and service. Also preferred is possession of the academic credentials for rank of Associate or Full Professor in a discipline in the School. Professional experience, public school licensure and experience with National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)/State Department of Education accreditation is advantageous.
