Dr. Aderemi (Remi) Adedokun is originally from Nigeria where he grew up in a plural society with a diverse cultural background. He completed high school education in Iwo and an associate degree in mechanical engineering at Yaba College of Technology Lagos, Nigeria. He migrated to Jamaica where he pursued a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He then migrated to the USA in 2000 to pursue an advanced degree in Business Administration at University of Bridgeport, CT.
He became a financial aid counselor at University of Bridgeport shortly after the completion of MBA degree. The job provided opportunity to interact with a diverse group of students, parents and staff. A few years later, he relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was engaged in various professional activities and embarked on a doctoral degree program. He became an adjunct professor with Indiana Institute of Technology in 2012 and also with Florida Institute of Technology in 2014. In May 2014 he joined the Revenue Department, City of Philadelphia as an accountant, where he oversaw the recovery of public funds and demonstrate the techniques, practices and normal applications of established procedures analysis of public accounting.
The decision to become Tusculum College’s family came out of the passion he has for teaching and the opportunity to inspire learners for success. His ambitions, goals, and inner passion as an educator are to stimulate interest, aptitude, transformational learning strategies, as well as, ethical values that are befitting to both community and business environments.
He loves cooking, fishing, travelling, and is a fanatic supporter of Chelsea Football Club-the blue!
