Alumna featured in Johnson City art exhibit

rahmWanda Rahm ’05 is one of the artists featured in the “From the Earth” exhibit that has been on display during the month of July at the Nelson Fine Art Center in Johnson City.

Rahm’s paintings in the display are colorful illustrations of scenes from Appalachia including some from Greene County. Rahm, who earned a degree in visual art and museum studies, is the administrative assistant for the Center for Civic Advancement at Tusculum.

The exhibit also features two other artists with Tusculum ties, Deborah Bryan, assistant professor of art, and Aurora Pope, an adjunct instructor and wife of Brian Pope, associate professor of psychology at Tusculum.  Bryan contributed some of her prints focusing on items found in nature. Pope’s abstract paintings and her artworks featuring natural materials such as egg shells and feathers are part of the exhibit.

The Nelson Fine Arts Center, located at 234 E. Main Street near the Hands On! Regional Museum, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The exhibit is on display through July 24.
