Tusculum College receives over 3,200 applications for admission, sets record

The Tusculum College Office of Residential Admission has a new record to celebrate. To date, the residential college has received 3,281 applications for admission for the 2011-2012 academic year. A record was set for the recent academic year as well, with 3,087 applications received at this time last year. The 2011-2012 application record is expected to increase, as Tusculum continues to accept applications for the upcoming academic year.

The steady increase in applications is an exciting challenge for the Office of Residential Admission, according to Melissa Ripley, director of admission for the college. She added, an increase in applications also means an increase in applicant credentials and evaluation.

“Applicant evaluations usually include mid-year and end-of-year reviews of credentials as Tusculum College strives to meet the needs of future Pioneers and their families,” said Ripley.

The Processing Department of the Office of Residential Admission, where applications are initially received, notes that even with the significant increase in applications, customer service is still the top priority.
