Open Enrollment 2018

The open enrollment period for your 2018 benefits will be from February 15, 2018, through March 6, 2018. Please turn in all forms to Human Resources by 4:00 pm on March 9, 2018. You must attend one of the presentations.

The Open Enrollment Presentation dates are as follows:

  • February 15, 2018, Greeneville Campus, Chalmers @ 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

  • February 20, 2018, Knoxville Campus, Room 107 @ 4:00 pm

  • February 22, 2018, Greeneville Campus, Chalmers @ 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

  • March 06, 2018, Greeneville Campus, Chalmers @ 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

Changes and Enhancements for 2018:
  1. We are changing the plan year on all benefits. This year will be a short year beginning April 1, 2018, and ending December 31, 2018. Our next open enrollment date will be for benefits beginning January 1, 2019.
  2. Your Medical Coverage will remain with BlueCross BlueShield of TN with no increase in premiums. You will continue to have a choice between three plans effective April 1, 2018, the Core Plan, the Buy-Up Plan and a High Deductible Health Plan. All three plans utilize Network S. Please note that UT Medical Center and affiliated physicians are NO longer participating in Network S.
  3. Beginning April 1, 2018, Domestic Partners will no longer be eligible to participate in the plan.
  4. Your Dental Coverage will remain with Guardian, however, there will be an increase of 10% on the premiums.
  5. The minimum contribution to the Flex Spending account has been lowered to $200.00, and the maximum contribution this year (2018) will be $1,950.00.
  6. Beginning January 1, 2019, Tusculum will become a Tobacco Free campus. The college will provide a Tobacco Cessation Program through BlueCross BlueShield of TN to include:
    • Unlimited inbound calling or secure messaging,
    • An individual action plan,
    • Free eight-week supply of nicotine replacement therapy if indicated in your individual action plan (over the counter patch or gum),
    • Education, guidance and support along the way, and Real time health stats.
    • Please refer to you benefit guide for additional information.
  7. Beginning January 1, 2019 Tusculum will offer discounted premiums to employees who do not use tobacco products.


Please remember that submitting incomplete forms causes processing delays. Please make sure that all forms are filled out completely and signed to ensure a smooth, automated enrollment process.
