This includes the university\u2019s faith-based tradition, which emphasizes closeness of staff-student involvement, both within and without the classroom, in order to cultivate citizenship, Christian character and practical wisdom among members of the University community. As a part of that mission, the university is committed to creating a campus climate in which the Christian faith is reasonably and persuasively presented and in which the<br \/>\nuniversity offers a program of quality education in the liberal arts and sciences with the concept of the wholeness of life as interpreted by the Christian faith. The Director of Clinical Experiences, Certification, Data, and Recruitment will maintain and monitor teacher candidate records for all students seeking teacher certification at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Analyze transcripts for eligibility for initial and additional licensure endorsements. Manage surveys of employers and completers, pull data from Student Learning &amp; Licensure, and create<br \/>\ndata reports for faculty decision-making and external reporting. Maintain office files; maintain IMC Lab, copy room, and building activities; and oversee student workers. This role will also provide a level of recruitment that encompasses 25% of the job which includes but it not limited to attending recruitment events, assist with Marketing materials and swag, help organize materials for distribution, work with area K-12 school districts to coordinate recruitment opportunities, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE: <\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Requires Bachelor\u2019s Degree&#8211; Master\u2019s Degree preferred&#8211;and extensive experience in teacher licensure and in office management<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of computer and computer programs &#8211; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Follow academic and other related administrative policies<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain records and monitor data on teacher candidate progress, Praxis\/admission test, and licensure requirements<br \/>\n\u2022 Collect institutional effectiveness data for reports<br \/>\n\u2022 Respond to correspondence and messages related to teacher certification<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain knowledge of changing Certification and Accreditation requirement; ensuring program requirements meet both institutional and state guidelines<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the Education Dean to Interpret state regulations for teacher certification<br \/>\n\u2022 Correspond with State Department of Education concerning licensure issues<br \/>\n\u2022 Verify and recommend licensure credentials to the State Department of Education<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage college surveys<br \/>\n\u2022 Pull data reports from Student Learning &amp; Licensure<br \/>\n\u2022 Create and maintain candidate data reports to inform programmatic review, faculty decision making, and external reporting<br \/>\n\u2022 Record minutes for department meetings<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the Education Dean to Monitor and maintain department budget records<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the Education Dean to Supervise work study students<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the Education Dean to Prepare annual reports for THEC and Title II<br \/>\n\u2022 Update and maintain department program checklist<br \/>\n\u2022 Organize and serve as ex-officio member and recorder on the Teacher Education Review Board<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain an efficiently run Education office, including copy room, for the COG North building<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage the IMC lab, copy room, library materials, and office equipment<br \/>\n\u2022 Support efforts aimed at the recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, and students<br \/>\n\u2022 Supervise lending records of educational materials<br \/>\n\u2022 Serve on advisory councils and committees as requested<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist with Commencement and Convocation<br \/>\n\u2022 Perform other duties as assigned<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Administer and oversee all field experiences (practicums and student teaching) for teacher<br \/>\neducation candidates. This includes arranging initial placements for candidates, overseeing<br \/>\ncompletion of field experience requirements, addressing issues\/concerns related to field<br \/>\nexperiences, and collecting\/analyzing both formative and summative evaluations. This includes<br \/>\nall certification fields and types\u2014e.g. traditional and Job Embedded.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Recommend grades for student teaching experience coursework and provide appropriate placement information to Student Records.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assign, train, and supervise those individuals who act as college supervisors and mentor teachers for field experiences.<br \/>\n\u2022 Schedule, advertise, and hold informational meetings for students applying for student teaching each semester.<br \/>\n\u2022 Administer and oversee initial certification procedures and documentation for all teacher education candidates.<br \/>\n\u2022 Administer and oversee recertification processes and\/or added endorsements for certified teachers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Annually update School of Education handbook related to field experiences, practicum and\/or certification.<br \/>\n\u2022 Advise students who return to add additional endorsements.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conduct Stakeholder district\/building visits with the Education Dean to ensure the quality of the program.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist Education with assessment of field experiences and analysis of data.<br \/>\n\u2022 Attend state certification meetings as needed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Education.<br \/>\n\u2022 Devote up to 25% of the role to supporting recruitment initiatives for Tusculum University, with a primary focus on the Education Division.<br \/>\n\u2022 Promotes the mission of Tusculum University to all faculty, staff, students and community at large.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER DUTIES: <\/strong><br \/>\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
