The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Pioneer Arena on the university’s Greeneville campus. Tusculum, the first higher education institution in Tennessee, will be holding its second commencement since it transitioned to a university in July.

“Commencement ceremonies are always a joyful opportunity to recognize the extraordinary work of our students,” said Dr. Madison Sowell, Tusculum’s provost and vice president of academic affairs. “These students deserve to celebrate their achievement and the tremendous support they received from their family members and the Tusculum family.”

Roe is serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives and is the ranking member on the House Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the House Education and Labor Committee and is co-chair of the House GOP Doctors Caucus. He was a member of the Joint Select Committee on Solvency of Multiemployer Pension Plans.

In addition to remarks from Dr. Roe, the ceremony will feature speeches by valedictorian Karin Mountain, who will receive her master’s degree in talent development, and salutatorian Megan Southerland, who will receive her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in environmental science. University leaders will also honor the Golden Pioneers, alumni who graduated from Tusculum 50 years ago.
