Tusculum to support Greeneville’s decision about opening second Chick-fil-A restaurant

GREENEVILLE – Tusculum University is excited Greeneville residents have an opportunity to develop a relationship with Chick-fil-A with a second location for the restaurant.

“If the Greeneville community wants to have another Chick-fil-A, Tusculum University would certainly understand and support that very much,” said Dr. Greg Nelson, Tusculum’s acting president. “It is Chick-fil-A’s decision when, where and why to have a second location in Greeneville or at any other location.

“Tusculum University never had the ability to influence timing and location of any Chick-fil-A other than the one built on our Greeneville campus. Of course, that will continue to be the case.”

The highly respected restaurant opened July 30, 2018, near Pioneer Arena in the heart of campus and has served faculty, staff, students and the community. Chartwells food service, which runs the Tusculum cafeteria, also manages the Chick-fil-A on campus.

Tusculum encourages community members to share their enthusiasm for the new Chick-fil-A by contacting the company and community leaders and encouraging the process to move forward, Dr. Nelson said.

“Chick-fil-A is a great corporate citizen,” he said. “Tusculum University is proud that we have established an excellent partnership with Chick-fil-A on our Greeneville campus, and we are pleased Greeneville will have that experience.”
