Andy Stoll<\/p><\/div>\n

A presentation by Andy Stoll on Monday, Aug. 25, about his 40-country journey of self-discovery is the first event in the 2014-15 Acts, Arts, Academia performance and lecture series at Tusculum College.<\/p>\n

The performance and lecture series is a program of Tusculum College Arts Outreach and will feature 14 events throughout the academic year. Acts, Arts, Academic is supported by the late Dr. Sam Miller in memory of his wife Agnes Ault Miller, Arts Outreach, Hearts for the Arts and the Tennessee Arts Commission.<\/p>\n

Andy Stoll\u2019s presentation, \u201cHow (and Why) to Travel Around the World\u201d will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Building on the Tusculum campus. The cost is $6 per person.<\/p>\n

After finishing college, Stoll set off on a four-year, 40-country trip in search of experiences far off the beaten path in order to get a better understanding of how the world works. During his travels, he handed out micro-loans in China, played a 19th<\/sup> century British soldier in a Bollywood movie, worked in a dress factory in Bangkok for 60 cents an hour, lived in a mud hut village in Zambia and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with 10 Tanzanian street kids.<\/p>\n

Stoll\u2019s presentation is much more than a travel slideshow. It is an insightful, inspiring, entertaining and often hilarious look at what it takes to find one\u2019s place in the world and achieve one\u2019s dreams.<\/p>\n

The schedule for the remainder of the 2014-15 academic year includes:<\/p>\n

\u201cBirding in Northeast Tennessee: Quite an Earful,\u201d a presentation by Don Miller, will be Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Behan Arena Theatre (lower level side entrance of the Annie Hogan Byrd building). The cost is $6 per person.<\/p>\n

\"\"Theatre-at-Tusculum\u2019s production of \u201cThe Addams Family\u201d musical comedy will be Nov. 14-16 and Nov. 20-23. All performances will be at 7 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium except the Sunday shows, which will be at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Tusculum College Band Christmas Concert will be Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium. There is free admission to the concert<\/p>\n

The holiday events continue with Tusculum College Community Chorus\u2019 annual Christmas concert on Monday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium. This year\u2019s performance, which is free and open to the public, will be \u201cGaudete! A Christmas Concert.\u201d<\/p>\n

Central Ballet Theatre returns to the stage in January with \u201cRapunzel: A Tangled Tale.\u201d Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. All the performances will be in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium.<\/p>\n

\u201cLincoln at Gettysburg\u201d with Chris Small of the Lincoln Project will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in the Behan Arena Theatre. The cost is $6 per person.<\/p>\n

\u201cKaleidoscope of Indian Classical Dance,\u201d featuring Bharatha Natyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak classical dance, will be 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium.<\/p>\n

The Tusculum College Band Winter Concert will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium. Admission is free.<\/p>\n

\"\"Theatre-at-Tusculum\u2019s production of the musical comedy, \u201cHow to Eat Like a Child,\u201d will be 7 p.m. Feb. 27-28 and March 5-7 in the Behan Arena Theatre. Sunday matinees will be presented at 2 p.m. on March 1 and 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cBack on Broadway,\u201d dazzling production numbers performed by the next generation of Broadway stars, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium.<\/p>\n

\u201c5 x 10,\u201d five 10-minute plays by Tusculum students under the direction of English professor Wayne Thomas, will be presented at 7 p.m. on April 17-18 and 24-25 with Sunday matinee performance at 2 p.m. on April 19 and 26. Admission for the plays, to be presented in the Behan Arena Theatre, is $6 per person.<\/p>\n

The Tusculum College Band Spring Concert will be Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

The series will conclude with the Tusculum College Community Chorus Spring Concert on Monday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Annie Hogan Byrd auditorium. Admission is free.<\/p>\n

Unless otherwise noted, admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (60 years of age and older) and $5 for children 12 and under.<\/p>\n
