GREENEVILLE<\/strong> \u2013 Dr. Ramona Williams, a 35-year higher education professional who has held multiple leadership posts, has been named vice president of enrollment management and financial aid at Tusculum University<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

Dr. Ramona Williams<\/p><\/div>\n

She will oversee a highly skilled team that recruits and admits students to Tennessee\u2019s first higher education institution. She will lead and support planning and implementation of the university\u2019s strategic plan and goals for enrollment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to add Dr. Williams to the Executive Cabinet and will benefit from her expertise and experience to drive our enrollment initiatives,\u201d said Dr. James Hurley, Tusculum\u2019s president. \u201cShe has a proven record of success and will be a tremendous asset working in concert with our faculty and staff to showcase Tusculum\u2019s strength and quality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Williams comes to Tusculum after serving East Tennessee State University for three decades, most recently as vice provost for community engagement. Earlier positions included vice provost for enrollment, executive director of admissions and assistant vice provost for student retention. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science, a master\u2019s in counseling and guidance and a doctorate in education, all from ETSU.<\/p>\n

Tusculum is experiencing growth, with the university developing the Niswonger College of Optometry and physician assistant program. The College of Business<\/a> and College of Education<\/a> have also entered partnerships with educational institutions and businesses to aid enrollment.<\/p>\n

The caliber of the academic programs, students, faculty and staff inspired Dr. Williams to join the Tusculum family. Tusculum\u2019s rich history of serving Appalachia, which will be honored this fall with a 225th anniversary celebration, also impressed her.<\/p>\n
