GREENEVILLE<\/strong> \u2013 Casey Reagan, a two-time Tusculum University<\/a> graduate and a dynamic up-and-coming academic professional, has been promoted to registrar of Tennessee\u2019s first higher education institution.<\/h3>\n

Casey Reagan<\/p><\/div>\n

Effective Friday, Oct. 1, Reagan will lead a team of five employees in the Registrar\u2019s Office<\/a> as they work closely with Tusculum family members to maintain a wide array of academic records and help ensure student progression toward graduation. He has worked in the Registrar\u2019s Office for five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cCasey has demonstrated proven results as a leader and is committed to the success of our students and the university,\u201d said Dr. Ramona Williams, vice president of enrollment management and financial aid<\/a>. \u201cWe are delighted to promote him and know his impressive skill set will not only lead to his professional growth but also help the university continue to progress. The Registrar\u2019s Office will be in excellent hands with Casey at the helm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reagan will succeed Sheryl Burnette, a fellow Tusculum graduate, who is retiring after 2 \u00bd years of dedicated and distinguished service to her alma mater. She concludes a career that has spanned more than 35 years at higher education institutions in East Tennessee. Accelerating her professional success was her receipt of a Bachelor of Science in organizational management and a Master of Arts in education<\/a>, with a human resource development concentration, from Tusculum.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a pleasure to collaborate with Sheryl as a colleague for close to 15 years, and that enabled me to see firsthand the strength she brings to a registrar\u2019s office,\u201d Dr. Williams said. \u201cOur Registrar\u2019s Office plays a vital role in setting the stage for a student\u2019s development as a career-ready professional, and Sheryl has provided stellar leadership for the team. We will miss her at Tusculum but express our gratitude for her service to the university.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reagan has earned a Bachelor of Arts in art and design<\/a> and a Master of Business Administration<\/a> from Tusculum. He accepted a job as academic records specialist in the Registrar\u2019s Office in 2016 and three years later advanced to academic records and technical systems manager.<\/p>\n

In his current position, he has worked with transfer students to determine what credits they have earned that can be applied toward their degree at Tusculum. He has also prepared reports on enrollment, grades, grade point averages and the numbers of students in different academic programs and assists with graduation. In addition, he has worked in multiple other operational aspects of the Registrar\u2019s Office. Now, he will oversee the entire enterprise, with plans to have an even greater digital presence with its processes.<\/p>\n

Sheryl Burnette<\/p><\/div>\n

Between his years as a student and as an employee, Reagan has dedicated 11 years to Tusculum.<\/p>\n

\u201cAttending Tusculum as a student and then serving in the Registrar\u2019s Office have been wonderful experiences, and I welcome the opportunity to assist my alma mater further,\u201d Reagan said. \u201cI care deeply about Tusculum and have enjoyed working with other departments, faculty members and students to achieve important goals. I particularly appreciate the opportunity to help students reach graduation and then see them cross the stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burnette speaks positively about Reagan\u2019s capabilities, noting his pleasant demeanor, dedication to ensuring everything in the Registrar\u2019s Office runs smoothly and his willingness to help others.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is 100 percent a team player and a forward-thinking professional who is well respected across campus,\u201d Burnette said. \u201cHis technical abilities will be extremely helpful for the Registrar\u2019s Office and enhance service for our students, faculty and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
