GREENEVILLE<\/strong> \u2013 Individuals who want to earn a high-quality bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree and study in a caring Christian environment that will prepare them for the next step in their lives can learn more at an upcoming open house at Tusculum University<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

Tusculum\u2019s Office of Admission<\/a> will hold the visit to the university Saturday, March 28, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the state-of-the-art Meen Center. Participants will receive valuable information about the university, academics, campus life and financial aid. They will also be able to tour campus and see the men\u2019s and women\u2019s lacrosse teams play.<\/p>\n

The event is open to anyone who wants to earn a degree living on campus, as a commuter or in an online format.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to speaking with prospective students about their aspirations and sharing how Tusculum would be an excellent fit,\u201d said Zack Kassebaum, vice president of enrollment management and financial aid<\/a>. \u201cWe understand going to college for the first time or returning to college is a major decision, and we are here to help every step of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kassebaum said attendees will realize after visiting Tusculum that the university provides traditional students with wonderful opportunities to grow academically, socially and spiritually.\u00a0 Potential online students will recognize that Tusculum is focused on helping them reach their academic goals while still addressing their other responsibilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cPotential residential students will quickly discover the beauty of our campus, stunning views of the mountains and many iconic features of our historic university,\u201d he said. \u201cOthers who will study online will discover the commitment to one-on-one support, mentoring from our professors and staff as well as the active and experiential learning that are available to all students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kicking off the day will be an opportunity to meet and hear remarks from Dr. Scott Hummel, Tusculum\u2019s president. The event will also provide an opportunity for prospective students to take a deeper dive into coursework with Dr. David Cook, the university\u2019s provost and vice president of academic affairs.<\/p>\n

Online courses are available from Tusculum courses, as Timia Coffman demonstrates.<\/p><\/div>\n

They will hear Melissa White, director of financial aid, discuss Tusculum\u2019s affordability and the options for securing resources to help pay for their education. Chuck Sutton, vice president of student affairs and retention, will give insight into campus life, such as housing and available clubs and intramurals.<\/p>\n

Open house participants will have an opportunity to eat in Tusculum\u2019s cafeteria and see the buildings and grounds. Tusculum is blessed with a Level I arboretum, a nature trail, a wetland and a nice blend of newer buildings and those that are more than 100 years old. The university also has a number of athletic<\/a> facilities to support its NCAA Division II teams.<\/p>\n

Academically, Tusculum offers a wide array of programs in business, education, the humanities, social sciences, sport studies as well as math and science. One of the hallmarks of a Tusculum education is the ability to perform undergraduate research and present at local, regional and national conferences.<\/p>\n
