{"id":4213,"date":"2009-11-23T21:46:34","date_gmt":"2009-11-23T21:46:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www2.tusculum.edu\/newsletter\/alumni\/?p=1125"},"modified":"2009-11-23T21:46:34","modified_gmt":"2009-11-23T21:46:34","slug":"a-whirlwind-of-activity-in-florida-%e2%80%93-three-alumni-events-in-three-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www3.tusculum.edu\/news\/news\/2009\/a-whirlwind-of-activity-in-florida-%e2%80%93-three-alumni-events-in-three-days\/","title":{"rendered":"A whirlwind of activity in Florida \u2013 three alumni events in three days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pix\" style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin: 1px;\" title=\"naples_group\" src=\"http:\/\/www3.tusculum.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/naples_group.jpg\" alt=\"naples_group\" width=\"461\" height=\"370\" \/>Tusculum College&#8217;s alumni in Florida were the focus of a trip earlier this month that featured three alumni events in three days.<\/p>\n<p>The gatherings were as diverse as the alumni who attended \u2013 one was at an alumnus\u2019 home, another found alumni gathering at a popular restaurant and a yet another group gathered aboard a yacht moored in a harbor. And at all the gatherings, alumni had the opportunity to meet and get to know the College\u2019s new president, Dr. Nancy B. Moody. Susan D. Vance \u201991, interim vice president of institutional advancement, helped provide an update of the latest happenings at Tusculum College.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pix\" style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin: 1px;\" title=\"orlando_group\" src=\"http:\/\/www3.tusculum.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/orlando_group.jpg\" alt=\"orlando_group\" width=\"504\" height=\"360\" \/>On November 11, alumni gathered at the home of Bob Kleinertz \u201976 and his wife, Ginny Alexander, in Naples, Fla. The couple were gracious hosts of a group of alumni who included Larry Reynolds \u201960, Ian Baird \u201960 and Tony Heberton \u201966 and their guests.<\/p>\n<p>The next alumni event was in Orlando, Fla., at Fleming Steak House, hosted by Dr. William Story \u201972. Joining Dr. Story for the event were alumni Kyle Becker \u201901, Harry and Dorothy Brier \u201949 \u201950, Dallas and Theresa Maddron \u201950 \u201850, William Self \u201959 and Earle and Meldrum Shotwell \u201947 \u201945, along with their guests.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pix\" style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin: 1px;\" title=\"lauderdale_group\" src=\"http:\/\/www3.tusculum.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/lauderdale_group.jpg\" alt=\"lauderdale_group\" width=\"535\" height=\"297\" \/>The third event in Florida was in Ft. Lauderdale where alumni were the guests of Scott M. Niswonger \u201987 H\u201906 on the \u201cScott Free\u201d yacht moored in the harbor. Attending were alumni Britton Garrett \u201901, Darren Gentry \u201999, Marc Woonton \u201994 and Todd Woonton \u201991. The alumni got an extra treat, the opportunity to see the world\u2019s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean\u2019s Oasis of the Seas, that docked in Fort Lauderdale that day from its maiden voyage from Finland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tusculum College alumni gather in Naples, Orlando and Ft.
