Amy Brooks serves as director of the athletic training program, assistant professor and assistant athletic trainer. At Tusculum, she also serves as the certified athletic trainer for the sports of volleyball and women’s. Brooks, a product of Hilton Head Island, S.C., came to Tusculum after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Troy University. While at the Troy, she served as the head athletic trainer for the Trojans rodeo team, as well as its cheerleading squad. She also assisted with the athletic training needs for women’s soccer, and men and women’s tennis.
Brooks earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Appalachian State University in 2004 and her master’s degree in education, concentrating in counseling and psychology from Troy this past August. She also attended Southern Cross University in Lismore, Australia in 2002.
She holds certifications in CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross and is licensed with the State of Alabama. She is a member of the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, Alabama Athletic Trainers Association, American Counseling Association and National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She is also a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of USA and was a recipient of the Gold and Silver Awards.
