Pickin’ with the Arts set for Friday, July 27

On Friday, July 27 at 6 p.m. the Doak House Museum at Tusculum College is to host, Pickin’ with the Arts. Pickin’ with the Arts is to be the formal end of the Doak House’s summer art camp, Color my World held that week. The event will showcase artwork the campers made during their time at camp and after an awards reception will offer guests an opportunity to listen to free music.

Pickin’ is held every 4th Friday at the museum. The music offered is an informal jam session that consists of local pickers and players of acoustic stringed instruments. All who play an instrument are welcome and invited to join the event A few instruments expected to be heard at the event include acoustic guitars, banjos, bass, dulcimers and fiddles. Pickers will play a variety of traditional mountain music.
