Dr. Lanna Monday, associate professor of art and design, and Lilli Gall, Tusculum’s graphic designer, have collaborated to create five children’s books that will benefit a local foundation.
Dr. Monday wrote the stories, and Gall completed the illustrations for the Pawsitive Minds series, which is aimed at children about 8-10 years old. The titles are “Dottie & Her Special Gift,” “Bobbie’s Big Move,” “Building Dreams with Bo & Ruby,” “Solving Problems with Miles & Taddle” and “Rosie & Finch.”
The books are lesson-driven stories that inspire children to learn ways to handle challenging moments in their lives and encourage them to aspire to their dreams. Dr. Monday said she wanted to help children as they navigate that period in their lives.
The partnership between the two Tusculum employees originally began as one book when Gall was a student at the university and grew to five over time through Dr. Monday’s conversations with Don Green, CEO and executive director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation in Southwest Virginia.
Proceeds from the books’ sales go toward funding educational scholarships and other initiatives that benefit students in the United States. Making that happen is the foundation, a nonprofit educational institution that is dedicated to making the world a better place to live. The foundation is named after Napoleon Hill, a self-help author.
The books, which are about 36-48 pages apiece, are available for purchase on Amazon for $14.99 as a paperback and $7.99 as a Kindle ebook. Next week, we will provide you with a link to a free Kindle download for one of the books in the series. We ask you to consider downloading it and leaving a review on Amazon.
We congratulate Dr. Monday and Gall on this impressive achievement and wish them great luck in the book sales!
