Alternative Spring Break planned by Center for Civic Advancement

The Center for Civic Advancement is giving students a chance to experience  a different sort of spring break serving others.

The Center is sponsoring an Alternative Spring Break March 6-8. Participating students will travel to Nashville where they will work with the Center for Student Missions on a service project. The students will be accompanied by Wanda Rahm, Administrative Assistant in the department and a Tusculum alumna. Faculty and staff have also been invited to participate in the trip.

The Center for Student Missions is a non-denominational organization that coordinates short-term mission trip to urban centers in cities in North America. During mission trips, volunteers live in the inner city and work directly with people there serving as volunteers in churches, missions, agencies and other institutions that strive to meet the spiritual and material needs of urban residents.

Community service is a familiar experience for many Tusculum students such as these who help serve a meal at a local church's soup kitchen.
