The Campus Ministries Office will lead the vespers service Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Marilyn duBrisk Theatre of Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center. The event will include Christmas carols, Scripture readings and special music from Tusculum students and staff.

At the conclusion, everyone will move outside for the lighting of the Christmas tree in the grass next to Shiloh Road. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available in the Annie Hogan Byrd lobby after the university lights the tree.

This is the second year Tusculum has held the vespers service. The first service was highly successful and built a spirit of anticipation for the celebration of Jesus’ birth.

“Our vespers service will be a delightful evening that will enrich the lives of everyone who attends,” said Dr. Chris Shumate, Tusculum’s campus minister. “We always enjoy having the community on campus, and the vespers service is a great way for all of us to deepen our faith and remind ourselves of the great gift we have received from God at Christmas with the birth of our Savior. We encourage everyone to join us.”

Anyone with questions can email Dr. Shumate at cshumate@tusculum.edu. Further information about the university’s ministries is available at https://site.tusculum.edu/campus-ministries/. To learn more about the university, please visit www.tusculum.edu.
