Director of Alumni & Community Engagement

Founded in 1794, Tusculum is the first university in Tennessee, the twenty-eighth oldest in the nation, and the oldest coeducational institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Nine of Tusculum’s buildings and the Tusculum Arch on the wooded 140-acre main campus are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Reporting to the Associate VP of Institutional Advancement and managing various aspects of fundraising events and campaigns, the director fulfills an essential role in soliciting, cultivating, engaging, and retaining alumni and donors; Plans, sponsors, supports, and manages engagement and outreach programs to connect individuals, community, and partners to the University; Collaborates with campus partners to align resources that build engagement opportunities;  Strategizes, develops resources, and manages a robust calendar of events, communication and volunteer opportunities aimed at building pride and to connect alumni around the globe with the University.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in planning and implementing special events for a large organization
  • Experience with fundraising and budget management.
  • Experience with maintaining and tracking yearly schedules on a large scale
