CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER

DESCRIPTION

Tusculum University is seeking applications for a full-time Campus Safety Officer. Responsibilities include working to assure safety and welfare of students, staff, faculty, invitees, and visitors on campus property, in campus facilities, and at institutional events by enforcing campus policies and regulations as set forth by the University. The position will serve as the primary emergency response personnel and information contact for the campus.  Works with other professional staff assigned to Campus Safety program during shift and liaises with the other campus entities having a role in campus management (e.g. student life, facilities management, technical support, etc.).  Support educational outreach in the areas of safety and welfare.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out said job duties

  • Possession of a current State of Tennessee Security license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Previous security experience, or related guard, police officer or military background preferred.

Talent Search Middle School Advisor

This is a 12-month, full-time position requiring weekly travel to schools in Unicoi and Cocke counties and occasional evening work. DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum is seeking applications for an Adult & Online Studies Telecounselor at the Knoxville Campus. This position is responsible for maintaining consistent contact with prospective adult, graduate, and online students through video chat (Zoom), email, text, phone, and mail to encourage application. Initiating appropriate follow-up with student applicants regarding the status of their application, providing support with the full application process. Providing assistance with recruitment and enrollment events.

Hours are Monday-Thursday from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.  Occasional weekend work may be required. Effective time management; able to organize and manage multiple priorities. The College of Health Sciences at Tusculum University is currently seeking founding faculty members for its Physician Assistant Program. Candidates should be passionate and experienced individuals regarding classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide PA students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of medical service. These faculty members will be responsible for course preparation that will include lecture and laboratory presentations, student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development/evaluation as well as providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA (or its predecessors) accredited physician assistant program
  • Certified by the NCCPA
  • Tennessee license or license eligible – must obtain license within 18 months of hiring
  • Graduate degree from a US regionally accredited institution (master’s required, doctorate desired). Master’s degree from PA program is acceptable.
  • 3 years of PA education experience
  • 3 years of PA clinical experience, primary care desired
  • Eligible for appointment at the Senior Instructor Level

These positions will be responsible for course preparation which will include lecture and laboratory presentations as well as student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation, providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed, traditional scholarly activity and University service, and provide health care to patients at the Tennessee College of Optometry clinics.

The successful applicant will have excellent organization, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Must be able to travel between different locations and/or clinical sites as needed
