Dean of Students

Tusculum University, located on a beautiful 140-acre campus in Greeneville, Tennessee, is seeking applicants for the position of Dean of Students.

DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Retention, the Dean of Students serves as one of the primary professional contacts for the Office of Student Affairs and is responsible for supervising student life community spaces (The Perk, Wellness Center, etc.) and overseeing the Student Affairs federal work-study students. This position will also oversee conduct, intramurals, and Student Wellness and Resources. The Dean of Students is responsible for assisting students personally by assessing their needs and connecting them to appropriate campus resources, such as Financial Aid, Mental Health Counseling, Student Support Services, the Tutoring Center, and ADA accommodations, as well as other resources as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Counseling, Education, or related field required (doctorate preferred).
  • Earned educational credentials preferred within (but not limited to) the following disciplines: college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or related fields;
  • Experience in student engagement and retention, educational programming, staff supervision and management, advising/counseling students
  • Experience working with underrepresented and/or minority populations.
  • Knowledge of University disciplinary systems, crisis response systems, and relevant legal issues
