Graduate Assistant for the Center for Civic Advancement and Coordinator of the Bonner Leader Program

Center for Civic Advancement-Bonner Leader Program: Graduate Assistant/Bonner Coordinator

 

Timeframe: August 1, 2024-July 31st, 2025.

 

BRIEF JOB SUMMARY: This is a Graduate Assistantship position. The Coordinator is responsible for working

with the Bonner Leader Program, a service and leadership-oriented program. The GA position

will also be an assistant to the Director and Assistant Director of the CCA with various duties

and assignments. The Coordinator also supports various civic engagement and community

service activities on campus and in the community. This is an in-person, on-campus position.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Enrollment and acceptable progression in one of Tusculum’s graduate programs is required; (some education programs do not qualify due to teaching requirements)
  • Individuals must possess an interest in and have demonstrated knowledge of civic engagement;
  • Individuals must possess an interest in civic engagement and organizational management
  • Great leadership skills and attention to detail
  • Average knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Initiative: self-starter: friendly
  • Flexible schedule (20 hours: plus some nights and weekends): Must attend alternate spring break in Spring
  • Experience with a Bonner or similar program in undergrad is preferred but not required

Coordinator of Residence Life and Programming

BRIEF JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Retention, the Coordinator of Residence Life and Programming serves as one of the primary professional contacts for residence life and is responsible for supervision of all residence life student staff and residence life programming. This position will also oversee Pioneer WOW, advise Student Government Association, and serve as the point of contact for registering and maintaining student clubs and organizations. The Coordinator will coordinates with campus constituencies to plan and manage student engagement activities throughout the academic year.

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Master’s degree required;
  • Earned educational credentials preferred within (but not limited to) the following disciplines: college student life, college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or related fields;
  • Experience in Residence Hall management, student staff supervision, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience planning and implementing student engagement programming in a higher education environment required; and
  • Experience working with underrepresented and/or minority student populations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Work collaboratively with the campus community to develop educational programming and/or quality student life programming;
  • Select, supervise, evaluate, and develop all residence hall student staff and Pioneer Peers;
  • Develop and implement training programs for residence hall staff and Pioneer Peers;
  • Serve as the Office of Student Affairs advisor to the Student Government Association (SGA), Tusculum Activities Board (TAB), assist with leadership development for clubs and organizations, and provide guidance in planning student engagement events across each semester;
  • Provide data and metrics for programming to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Retention;
  • Assist Student Affairs in managing housing matters;
  • Develop, collaborate, and communicate events for the Pioneer Week of Welcome, Homecoming, Pioneer Weekend, Career Fairs and the Lantern Ceremony
  • Assist in carrying out daily Office of Student Affairs functions;
  • Maintain on-call responsibilities during opening, closing, assigned breaks, and throughout the operational year as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Retention
  • Participate in student pick-up/drop-off shuttle services to and from regional airports
  • Follows academic and other related administrative policies; and
  • Promotes the mission of Tusculum University to all faculty, staff, students and community at large.

DESCRIPTION:

The College of Science, Technology, and Mathematics at Tusculum University is seeking applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology.

This is a full-time position. Tusculum faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 12 credits in each of the fall and spring semesters, advising, service, scholarship, and professional development. . While Tusculum University is primarily a teaching institution, faculty are expected to participate in research for promotion. Additionally, applicants should be committed to student success and excellence in teaching, mentoring and advising students; assisting with development and implementation of program outcomes; using program evaluation data to enhance, modify or revise curriculum and/or improve educational delivery, etc. Faculty is expected to engage in and contribute toward the good of the College and its community through the maintenance of expertise in the discipline, sharing time and talents with the larger University community, and assisting in ensuring program compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting Analyst

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum University is currently seeking applicants for a part-time Accounting Analyst.  This position will report to the CFO and is responsible for performing a variety of specialized and complex record-keeping duties associated with the processing, audit, and analysis of accounting transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to prepare financial reports including ad-hoc reports needed for operational and strategic decision-making,  analyze financial activities, and research audit requests.

Enrollment Representative

Tusculum University has an exciting opportunity. Situated on a scenic 140-acre campus in Greeneville, Tennessee, we are currently seeking an enrollment representative to help develop recruitment strategies for traditional undergraduate students.  Positions work with athletes and non-athlete students. Reporting to the Director of Traditional Recruitment, enrollment representatives organize and implement recruitment strategies that generate prospects and lead to enrollment for a variety of student populations; including high school and dual enrollment students. Recruitment activities occur at local and regional events such as corporate partnership meetings, college fairs, high school visits, community college visits, and other community activities to generate interest.  Candidates should be able to develop and foster positive relationships while representing the University in a professional manner at all times. Local and regional presentations are scheduled to provide information to prospective student groups to explain admissions processes, procedures, and other requirements for enrollment. Travel will be required to local schools, businesses, career fairs, and other locations primarily in Tennessee but may include travel to the surrounding region.  Please note that overnight travel is necessary, especially during high recruitment periods in the fall and spring so candidates will be expected to perform unofficial transcript requests, and maintain accurate travel logs and expense reports. Some night and weekend work is required.
