Upward Bound Academic Advisor 070824

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum University is seeking qualified applicants for Upward Bound Academic Advisor serving 9th-12th grade students in Cocke and Hawkins Counties. This 12-month, full-time position reports to the Project Director of Cocke/Hawkins Upward Bound and requires routine evening and weekend work. Job Description: Tusculum University is hiring a full-time Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science within the College of Science, Technology, and Mathematics. The teaching load is 12 credit hours each semester for the Assistant Professor of Mathematics position with the possibility of summer employment. The teaching load will include general education mathematics courses, as well as courses for Mathematics majors. Upward Bound Cocke-Hawkins Project Director- 070124

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum University is seeking qualified applicants for Project Director of Upward Bound Cocke-Hawkins. This 12-month, full-time position will report to the Executive Director of TRIO Programs and requires routine evening and weekend work. The Project Director recruits and serves first-generation and low-income high school students in Cocke County and Hawkins County school districts. The Project Director manages the daily operation of the program including oversight of staff as well as recruitment of participants and facilitation of program activities including but not limited to academic advising, tutoring, college readiness services, field trips, cultural enrichment events, and an immersive six-week Summer Academy. We are currently seeking an enrollment representative to help develop recruitment strategies for traditional undergraduate students.  Positions work with athletes and non-athlete students. • High school diploma or equivalent education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out said job duties
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license required
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Possession of a current State of Tennessee Security license (or eligibility for licensure)
• Previous security experience, or related guard, police officer or military background preferred.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred
• Ability to express oneself employing good English-language skills for oral communication and writing daily reports
• Ability to read and interpret printed information
• Calm demeanor that can be maintained in emergency situations
• The ability to accurately recall events or certain situations for proceedings
• Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the general public
