Coordinator for the Tusculum Fund

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College seeks a full-time Coordinator for the Tusculum Fund.  The individual will assist with planning and executing all aspects of Tusculum College’s annual fund including, but not limited to, direct mail and email campaigns, faculty and staff fundraising, overseeing the Student-Alumni Association, and direct supervision of the student phonathon.  The position reports directly to the Director of the Tusculum Fund and does require evening and weekend work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as enthusiasm and creativity are necessary.  Fundraising and/or sales experience are a plus.  Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting will be considered.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and Tusculum College graduates are encouraged to apply.

Associate Director of Major Gifts

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for a full time position as the Associate Director of Major Gifts, a key position in the Office of Institutional Advancement focused on raising money. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a group of donors and donor prospects to raise gifts of $25,000 and more for the College, meeting increasing annual goals for visits and dollars raised.  Overnight travel and some weekend work are required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree a plus.  Three years’ progressively responsible experience in fund raising required, preferably in higher education.  Comparable experience in other fields that involve building and maintaining long-term client relationships may be considered.

The ability to clearly express the opportunities of the College, listen to the interests of prospective donors, build respectful relationships, and ask for gifts is critical and required.  Additionally, the candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated planning, administrative, organizational and budget skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and correctly

Admissions Communications Data Clerk

DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Enrollment is hiring a communications/data clerk position.  The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by processing communication workflows and provide data entry support.  This position requires the individual to sit and stand, stoop and bend for extend periods at a time, wear a headset, have manual dexterity and be able to lift 25-30 lbs.  The position is located at the Tusculum College, Greeneville, TN campus.   The hours are Monday-Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required, however it is imperative that the person selected for this position be flexible.  The starting date is projected for August 11, 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate for this position should have previous office experience.  Excellent oral and customer services are mandatory.  Good record keeping and organizational skills are required.  Applicants must have advanced knowledge of computer programs and software with strong data entry skills, and the ability to work under pressure. A flexible, positive and winning attitude is needed to be successful in this position. Associates degree required, Bachelors preferred.

Visiting Assistant Professor of English

Tusculum College is seeking to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor of English position that is needed to teach composition and, should the need arise, journalism and professional writing and/or literature courses, beginning in August 2014. Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management

Tusculum College, a Presbyterian USA, liberal arts, coeducational institution of higher education located on a scenic 140-acre campus in the Great Smoky Mountains region of Greeneville, Tennessee, invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management. Director of Institutional Research

DESCRIPTION:

Located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Greeneville, Tennessee, Tusculum College, Tennessee’s oldest College, seeks an experienced institutional research professional to serve as Director of Institutional Research in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.  Reporting to the Assistant to the President for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, the Director is responsible for coordinating external reporting for the College, and College-wide student assessment using external instruments.  The Director works with a wide range of offices to provide regular and ad hoc data and analysis, and serves as a resource to College on the Colleague data system.  The Director must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work well with various constituencies, and work independently.

The Director of Institutional Research enhances institutional effectiveness by meeting the data and analysis needs of executives, departmental administrators, and faculty.  The Director is responsible for coordinating external reporting for the College to agencies, including IPEDS, NCAA, SACSCOC, TICUA, Petersons, College Board, Yes WE Must, etc.  The Director coordinates College-wide student assessment for all external instruments including Major Field Tests, CAAP, ACAT, NSSE, CIRP, and Noel-Levitz student satisfaction surveys; provides technical assistance in support of departmental test development, survey development, and other data needs and analysis. Assists with preparation of Fact Book, data for annual foundation applications, regular teaching load reports, and other ad hoc requests for data and analysis; and develops databases suitable for longitudinal studies and statistical analysis, such as with student retention.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree is required; institutional research experience preferred.  Applicants must possess excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, databases, SPSS, and SQL.  Experience with Datatel, Colleague or similar systems highly preferred.  Successful applicant must possess effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and with a wide-range of College offices and personnel, and work on multiple projects at a time. This is a comprehensive position and requires a strong work ethic to be successful.

Assistant Professor of Psychology

DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Psychology at Tusculum College is seeking applications for a one-year appointment at the Assistant Professor level (with possibility of renewal) beginning August 2014. This position will involve teaching a wide variety of courses in all department concentrations (Applied, General-Experimental, and Behavioral Health) and travel to any of our four campus locations (Greeneville, Knoxville, Morristown, and Tri-Cities). Other duties include advising students, mentoring student research, and service on college committees. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to student success, and the potential to develop a program of research that can involve students.

Assistant Financial Aid Counselor

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Financial Aid Counselor to counsel students and their families on how to cover the costs for a Tusculum College education, including all sources of assistance and the delivery system for financial aid. This is a full time position supportive of enrollment growth for traditional aged and adult students on the Greeneville campus, and three approved off-site locations in Kingsport, Knoxville, and Morristown. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial aid while maintaining mandatory compliance with internal policies, as well as, state and federal guidelines and laws. This position requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and strong coordination and communication with various offices including the Business Office, Registrar, and Athletics. Applicants must have a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service, be a team player andthe ability and willingness to travel to each of the off-sites for student outreach events. Some evening and weekend work will be required as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree required and experience in financial aid or higher education is preferred. Applicants must possess effective interpersonal, oral, listening, and written communication skills; an outgoing personality; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; a flexible attitude; professionalism, customer service skills, and a willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed. This comprehensive position requires experience coordinating multiple projects, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills to be successful. Faculty is expected to engage in and contribute toward the good of the College and its community through the maintenance of expertise in the Discipline and by sharing time and talents with the larger College community.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Applicants should have earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university. Applicants should hold a current and unencumbered license, or be eligible for licensure, as a professional registered nurse in the State of Tennessee; hold current American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers, and successfully clear criminal background and drug screening assessments.

Preferred:  Preferred  qualifications are an earned doctorate degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution, master’s degree in nursing with three years full-time college teaching experience that demonstrates excellence in teaching and student success, and experience with regional and programmatic accreditation.   Applicants currently enrolled in doctoral program will be considered.

Graduate & Professional Studies Adjunct Faculty

The Graduate and Professional Studies program of Tusculum College seeks qualified adjunct faculty for the following teaching positions listed below.  GPS offers non-traditional, accelerated, adult-oriented classes. Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and are offered in the evening or on the weekends in upper East Tennessee.  Prior experience with adult students is preferred as well as experience teaching web-enhanced courses using an on-line course delivery system. 

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Early Childhood Education – Terminal degree and emphasis in early childhood education.  Additional qualifications of special education and teaching of young children with special needs is preferred.

Master of Arts in Education Programs - Organizational Training and Education and Human Resource Development Concentrations – Terminal degree with demonstrated professional accomplishments in the instructional systems design (ISD) functions are required.  Teach six week courses in Analysis of Instructional Needs and Performance Gap Analysis, Instructional Design, Evaluation of Adult Learning, Instructional Materials and Media.  

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Curriculum & Instruction and MAT – Terminal degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Education, Special Education, Reading, English, Science, Math or Art and experience in an Elementary or Secondary Education classroom.
