The Tusculum University Bookstore is currently seeking applications for a part-time (20 hours per week) Sales/Post Office Clerk. Candidates must have evening and weekend availability. Campus Safety Sergeant

Tusculum University is seeking applications for a full-time Campus Safety Sergeant. Under the direction of the Chief of Campus Safety, the Sergeant of Campus Safety directs, coordinates and evaluates campus safety officers to ensure compliance with all certification requirements; promotes adherence to all university policies and procedures; and establishes a foundation for the accountability necessary to assure safety of students, staff, faculty, invitees, and visitors on campus property, in campus facilities, and at institutional events, by enforcing campus policies and regulations as set forth by the Institution. Upward Bound Counseling Specialist

Tusculum University is currently accepting applications for a Upward Bound Counseling Specialist. This is a 12-month, full-time position requiring weekly travel to schools and occasional evening work. This position provides educational and career guidance to high school students as part of a program designed to encourage high school and college completion. Duties include identifying, recruiting and selecting participants; collecting and maintaining data; conducting small group sessions; designing and participating in program activities (some of which entails physical exertion); collaboration with school personnel and parents. This individual must have a commitment to the philosophy and goals of the program and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

SSS ARCHES Administrative Assistant

Tusculum University is currently accepting applications for a full-time Student Support Services Administrative Assistant for the college’s ARCHES TRIO Program housed at the Knoxville, TN site. This is a full-time, 12-month position. This position will provide administrative and clerical support for the ARCHES program for Adult and Online Studies (AOS) students at the Knoxville, Morristown, and Greeneville campuses.  ARCHES works primarily with first-generation, low-income adult learners.

This position will maintain applicant and participant records and required documentation for the grant.  Primary duties include budget reconciliation, producing requisitions, and tracking grant spending.  The administrative assistant will facilitate communication with students through various mediums and manage social media sites. Event and trip planning will also be a function of this position.  This person will serve as a link between AOS students and the Office of Student Affairs. The ideal applicant should have exemplary organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with students and colleagues from different backgrounds. Intern Athletic Trainer

Tusculum University is seeking applicant for multiple Athletic Training Internship position. This positions is designed to support Tusculum’s 600+ student-athletes competing in 25 NCAA sports while providing the opportunity to gain experience as an entry level Certified Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a dynamic, 10-person Athletic Training staff.

Primary responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the athletic training program and performing other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Athletic Director. Sport responsibilities may include Football/Softball, and/or Cross Country/Softball, and/or Football/Tennis.  Final primary sport responsibility will be determined during the interview process and will be based on experience. Some team travel as well as night, weekend, and holiday work will be required.

This position will be 30 hour/week for 37 weeks from approximately August 5th to May 15th and may be renewed for an additional year. These will be considered part time positions.

  • High school diploma or equivalent education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out said job duties
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possession of a current State of Tennessee Security license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Previous security experience, or related guard, police officer or military background preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred
  • Ability to express oneself employing good English-language skills for oral communication and writing daily reports
  • Ability to read and interpret printed information
  • Calm demeanor that can be maintained in emergency situations
  • The ability to accurately recall events or certain situations for proceedings

DESCRIPTION: 

Tusculum University is taking applications for Facilities Management Level I. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining campus building and grounds. Candidates must be able to walk extended distances and lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.

Part Time Mechanic

Tusculum University is seeking applications for a Part Time Mechanic, which will receive approximately 25 hours per week. Maintain and repair university fleet and motor pool vehicles and all mechanical grounds equipment.  Maintain grounds, administrative buildings, athletic fields and facilities, staff housing, residential housing, and other institutional buildings in a clean, efficient, safe and orderly fashion as designated by the supervisors.  Purchase supplies needed to work on vehicles and maintain garage in a clean, efficient, safe and orderly fashion.

The College of Health Sciences at Tusculum University is currently seeking founding faculty members for its Physician Assistant Program. Candidates should be passionate and experienced individuals regarding classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide PA students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of medical service. These faculty members will be responsible for course preparation that will include lecture and laboratory presentations, student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development/evaluation as well as providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed.

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA (or its predecessors) accredited physician assistant program
  • Certified by the NCCPA

  • Graduate degree from a US regionally accredited institution (master’s required, doctorate desired). Master’s degree from PA program is acceptable.
  • 3 years of PA education experience
  • 3 years of PA clinical experience, primary care desired
  • Eligible for appointment at the Senior Instructor Level

These positions will be responsible for course preparation which will include lecture and laboratory presentations as well as student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation, providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed, traditional scholarly activity and University service, and providing health care to patients at the Niswonger College of Optometry clinics.

The successful applicant will have excellent organization, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Must be able to travel between different locations and/or clinical sites as needed
