Assistant Professor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting

DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Organizational Management at Tusculum College is seeking to fill a full-time faculty or visiting faculty position in Accounting for the School of Business beginning August 2013.  Applicants should have an earned doctorate in accounting or a business related field with credentials to teach accounting or a masters degree in accounting to be considered for the visiting position.  Credentials to teach additional business related areas are a plus.

ENROLLMENT REPRESENTATIVE – KNOXVILLE CENTER

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking applications for an Enrollment Representative at the Knoxville Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to educate prospective students about Tusculum College and its programs. Candidates are required to develop a rapport with a variety of other constituents including business, faculty, TC staff, alumni, and current students. Travel will be extensive and on an “as needed” basis to local businesses, schools, career fairs, and expositions primarily in upper east Tennessee and surrounding borders. Other duties include significant phone counseling, reviewing applications, interviewing, and assisting with recruitment related events.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Prior recruitment and/or marketing experience preferred. Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills, an outgoing personality, customer service skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, a flexible attitude, and a willingness to work frequent evenings and weekends as needed. This position covers a wide range of responsibilities and requires a strong work ethic to be successful. Strong computer skills and an excellent driving record are also required.

Site Coordinator, Kingsport Center for Higher Education

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking a Site Coordinator for its new site in the Kingsport Center for Higher Education.  The Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and running the Tusculum College Office and assuring its success for recruiting and supporting Tusculum College students.   The Site Coordinator will be employed full-time as an academic administrator and will coordinate work with Enrollment Management, Faculty Services, Academic Advising, TRIO, and Tusculum College Deans and School Director, among others.  Although primarily an office management and student/faculty support position, the Site Coordinator is also responsible for identifying and maintaining external relationships that are consistent with the success of recruiting prospective students.  This position may involve up to twelve (12) hours of instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Manager of Faculty Services

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic, full-time professional for the Manager of Faculty Services position at the main campus in Greeneville. The qualified candidate will oversee all scheduling for all programs related to faculty assignments in Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) program in the Northeast region.  This candidate will work directly with faculty and is responsible for implementing policies and procedures, overseeing the documentation of faculty and course activities, and conducting faculty orientations.  He or she will also coordinate efforts with other key staff members within GPS and with other administrative offices to provide seamless support to each group.  This candidate is also responsible for preparing contracts and requisitions for payroll distributions for faculty as well as supervising the Academic Support Coordinator. 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s is preferred, though extensive faculty experience and experience with Colleague database may be considered. Applicants must possess effective oral and written communication skills, conflict resolution, an outgoing personality, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team, a flexible and positive attitude, and a willingness to work some evenings if necessary. This is a comprehensive position and requires a strong work ethic to be successful. A thorough knowledge of computers is also required.

Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College a member of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference is seeking applications for a Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach.   This is a part-time position and does not include benefits. The ideal candidate will have head coaching experience preferably at an NCAA institution, ability to manage budget, fundraising experience, and a record of success in attracting quality student-athletes in a small college environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years collegiate coaching experience preferably at an NCAA institution, computer literate with exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to monitor crowd control.  However, applicants urged to apply with minimal experience.

Associate Director of Major Gifts

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the Associate Director of Major Gifts, a key position in the Office of Institutional Advancement focused on raising money. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a group of donors and donor prospects to raise gifts of $25,000 and more for the College, meeting increasing annual goals for visits and dollars raised.  Overnight travel and some weekend work are required.  

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree a plus.  Five years’ progressively responsible experience in fund raising required, preferably in higher education.  Comparable experience in other fields that involve building and maintaining long-term client relationships may be considered.  A proven record of accomplishment of successful fund raising experience is required; similar successful sales experience may be considered.

Campus Safety Officer

DESCRIPTION :

Tusculum College is seeking applications for a full-time Campus Safety Officer. Responsibilities include working to assure safety and welfare of students, staff, faculty, invitees, and visitors on campus property, in campus facilities, and at institutional events by enforcing campus policies and regulations as set forth by the College. The position will serve as the primary emergency response personnel and information contact for the campus.  Works with other professional staff assigned to Campus Safety program during shift and liaises with the other campus entities having a role in campus management (e.g. student life, facilities management, technical support, etc.).  Support educational outreach in the areas of safety and welfare.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out said job duties
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license required
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possession of a current State of Tennessee Security license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Previous security experience, or related guard, police officer or military background preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred
  • Ability to express oneself employing good English-language skills for oral communication and writing daily reports
  • Ability to read and interpret printed information
  • Calm demeanor that can be maintained in emergency situations
  • The ability to accurately recall events or certain situations for proceedings

Telecounselor

DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Admissions is currently seeking Telecounselors to work evenings 16-20 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by contacting prospective students of the College to educate them about scholarship opportunities and other important aspects of the admission process. This position requires the individual to sit for long periods at a time and wear a headset. The hours are Monday –Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, occasional weekend work may be required. The starting date is projected for August 23, 2013.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

The candidates for this position should have previous office experience and strong data-entry skills with the ability to multi-task. Articulate oral communications skills and customer service skills are mandatory. Candidates must be able to successfully complete phone calls wearing a headset, have good recordkeeping and organizations skills, and advanced knowledge of computer programs and software. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, and be detail oriented. The position requires an individual who has a high level of energy, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a commitment to teamwork.

Graduate & Professional Studies Adjunct Faculty

The Graduate and Professional Studies program of Tusculum College seeks qualified adjunct faculty for the following teaching positions listed below.  GPS offers non-traditional, accelerated, adult-oriented classes. Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and are offered in the evening or on the weekends in upper East Tennessee.  Prior experience with adult students is preferred as well as experience teaching web-enhanced courses using an on-line course delivery system. 

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Early Childhood Education – Terminal degree and emphasis in early childhood education.  Additional qualifications of special education and teaching of young children with special needs is preferred.

Master of Arts in Education Programs - Organizational Training and Education and Human Resource Development Concentrations – Terminal degree with demonstrated professional accomplishments in the instructional systems design (ISD) functions are required.  Teach six week courses in Analysis of Instructional Needs and Performance Gap Analysis, Instructional Design, Evaluation of Adult Learning, Instructional Materials and Media. 

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Curriculum & Instruction and MAT – Terminal degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Education, Special Education, Reading, English, Science, Math or Art and experience in an Elementary or Secondary Education classroom.
