Facilities Management IV

The Dean of Science, Technology, & Mathematics reports directly to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and provides academic leadership for the Mathematics & Computer Science and Natural Sciences departments, housing programs in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Information Technology, and Mathematics. The Dean will work with faculty to develop a mission/vision for the school, initiate an infrastructure to support STEM research, and assist with programs to serve the health sciences.

The Dean is responsible for the delivery, assessment, improvement, and viability of all curricular and co-curricular programs within the College.  The Dean supervises department chairs, co-curricular directors, faculty, and staff; coordinates the use of fiscal material and human resources to ensure programs contribute to the achievement of the college and institutional missions; leads data-informed development, modification, and elimination of curricular and co-curricular programs; develops program and college specific policies in conjunction with other members of the Deans Council; coordinates with department chairs to ensure appropriate staffing of course offerings by full and part time instructors; ensures credentialing of all instructors; and coordinates the development and management of all budgets associated with the College. The Dean will teach courses as needed (no more than one per semester).

Intern Athletic Trainer

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum University is seeking applicant for two Athletic Training Internship positions. These positions are designed to support Tusculum’s 600+ student-athletes competing in 22 sports while providing the opportunity to gain experience as an entry level Certified Athletic Trainer.

Primary responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the athletic training program and performing other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Athletic Director. Sport responsibilities may include Track and Field and/or Tennis. Final primary sport responsibility will be determined during the interview proe4ss and will be based on experience. Some team travel as well as night, weekend, and holiday work will be required.

These positions will be 30 hour/week for 36 weeks from approximately January 7th to May 24th and may be renewed for an additional year. These will be considered part time positions.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. The ideal candidate will need to have must have BOC certification, and Tennessee Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible.

Physician Assistant (PA) Program Founding Faculty

The College of Health Sciences at Tusculum University is currently seeking founding faculty members for its Physician Assistant Program. Candidates should be passionate and experienced individuals regarding classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide PA students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of medical service. These faculty members will be responsible for course preparation that will include lecture and laboratory presentations, student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development/evaluation as well as providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA (or its predecessors) accredited physician assistant program
  • Certified by the NCCPA
  • Tennessee license or license eligible – must obtain license within 18 months of hiring
  • Graduate degree from a US regionally accredited institution (master’s required, doctorate desired). Master’s degree from PA program is acceptable.
  • 3 years of PA education experience
  • 3 years of PA clinical experience, primary care desired
  • Eligible for appointment at the Senior Instructor Level

Tusculum University is currently seeking faculty for its College of Health Sciences – Optometry Program. Candidates should be passionate and experienced regarding classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of professional optometric serves. These positions will be responsible for course preparation which will include lecture and laboratory presentations as well as student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation, providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed, traditional scholarly activity and University service, and provide health care to patients at the Tennessee College of Optometry clinics.

Minimum requirements include an O.D. and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a discipline related to optometry or its associated basic sciences. Optometrist applicants should be eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee and are expected to participate in patient care services. The successful applicant will have excellent organization, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Must be able to travel between different locations and/or clinical sites as needed
