Director of Veteran’s Affairs

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking applications for a Director of Veteran’s Affairs. This position will develop and sustain outreach activities to attract, enroll, and retain veteran students for enrollment at Tusculum College and coordinate the Veteran’s affairs support group programming at all Tusculum College sites. The Director of Veteran’s Affairs will be responsible for fostering and maintaining outreach relations between the College and military institutions, Veterans Associations, and the surrounding Northeast Tennessee community. Provide training for faculty and staff including Green Zone and PTSD, Coordinate veterans’ programming with Tusculum College offices and organizations, organize and facilitate mentoring opportunities specifically for veterans. This position also acts as a liaison between Tusculum students, faculty, staff and veteran/active duty organizations and area post-secondary institution veterans programs. This position also serves as advisor for Tusculum Military Assistance Group (TMAG), and pursues and secures veterans’ affairs funding opportunities for veterans’ programming, as well as, representing Tusculum College as member of East Tennessee Military Affairs Council (ETMAC), and supervising the Veteran’s Administration (VA)-funded work-study participants.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred. Previous United States Armed Forces honorable service is required, and Veterans affairs experience within higher education, governmental, and/or private sector agencies.  Must be able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, and possess exemplary organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Enrollment Representative – Knoxville Center

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking applications for an Enrollment Representative at the Knoxville Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to educate prospective students about Tusculum College and its programs. Candidates are required to develop a rapport with a variety of other constituents including business, faculty, TC staff, alumni, and current students. Travel will be extensive and on an “as needed” basis to local businesses, schools, career fairs, and expositions East Tennessee and surrounding borders. Other duties include significant phone counseling, reviewing applications, interviewing, and assisting with recruitment related events. Salary to commensurate with education and experience.

Student Support Services Associate Director (ARCHES Program)- Knoxville Site

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director for the Student Support Services’ ARCHES Program (Knoxville site). This is a 12-month, full-time position. Some evening and weekend work is required. This position manages the daily operation of the Student Support Services (ARCHES) program that serves undergraduate students in the College’s Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) program. The Associate Director & Counseling Liaison works directly under the guidance of the Director of Student Support Services. Duties will include collecting and maintaining data for the Department of Education reporting; designing and participating in program activities, performance evaluation of staff. Also, collaboration with faculty and staff as necessary for the facilitation of student services; collegiate advising and career planning for program participants; coordination of financial literacy awareness services; counseling assessment and facilitation of referrals for students seeking counseling from a licensed professional. This position collaborates with the College’s Financial Aid Office personnel to promote financial aid awareness, serves on committees; and provides general academic support to students.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in counseling, educational psychology, college student personnel, or related field. The successful candidate must have previous higher education experience and familiarity with adult learners and disadvantaged student populations. Admission Representative

Tusculum College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Admission Representative. The primary responsibility is to educate prospective students and families about Tusculum College and its programs. Responsible for recruiting qualified applicants for admission to the college in accordance with state and federal accreditation and Institute policies and regulations, consistent with the highest ethical standards. Candidates are required to develop a rapport with a variety of other constituents including counselors, faculty, TC staff, alumni and current students. Extensive fall & early spring travel (12-18 weeks) will be to high schools and college recruitment programs in selected Eastern and Southern states along with international recruitment responsibilities. Other duties include, but are not limited to conducting mandatory high-quantity prospect phone contacts, reviewing applications, interviewing students, assisting with major recruitment events, maintaining a Saturday visit rotation. Director of Advancement Services

DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Institutional Advancement at Tusculum College seeks a full-time Director of Advancement Services. This is a mid-level position whose function is to manage an electronic database of more than 30,000 records, oversee the system analysis of the database system, including gift policy administration, gift and data acceptance and entry, and user training and technical support services.  The Director of Advancement Services leads the strategic process for prospect management.  Other duties include: overseeing entry of data into Raiser’s Edge in a timely and accurate fashion, ensuring contact reports and tracking entries are completed in a timely and accurate fashion, ensuring the data integrity of all electronic information in the database, maintaining and enhancing the security of confidential data related to alumni and donors of the College, identifying prospective donors to the College, conducting and documenting prospect research, leading the receiving, recording and receipting all gifts and/or pledges, leading the submission and tracking of matching gift forms, importing data from other College systems as necessary, and leading the education and training in Raiser’s Edge and coordinate systems to better utilize the software.  Must meet and be hospitable with alumni and friends of the College on- and off-campus. Assist with all areas of Institutional Advancement as assigned, including donor, alumni, and student events. Support efforts aimed at the recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, and students. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Working knowledge of fund accounting required, as well as advanced computer skills in Excel, Word and donor databases.  Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus!  A minimum of five years’ experience in database management and three years’ experience in fund raising preferred.    Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, and enthusiasm and attention to detail are necessary as well as previous supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of Institutional Advancement and higher education fundraising preferred. Experience working with a non-profit organization, work-related experience in a higher education environment, or equivalent or similar experience in a business environment will be considered. Assistant or Associate Professor of the Athletic Training Education Program

Tusculum College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of the Athletic Training/Athletic trainer. This is a full-time faculty position with primary responsibilities in teaching athletic training courses and providing athletic trainer duties in the athletic department; service to the College and community; and scholarly/professional development.  Additional responsibilities include academic instruction/supervision of athletic training students and assisting the program director in maintaining compliance with CAATE accreditation standards and providing athletic training duties for athletic.  Faculty members are to be committed to excellence in teaching. Faculty members are expected to contribute toward the good of the College through the maintenance of expertise in the discipline, and sharing time and talents with the larger College community.

Director of the Tusculum Fund

The Office of Institutional Advancement at Tusculum College seeks a full-time Director of the Tusculum Fund.  The individual will plan, execute and oversee all aspects of Tusculum College’s annual fund including, but not limited to, identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective donors for leadership gifts, direct mail and email campaigns, faculty and staff fundraising, the Pioneer Philanthropy Council, and the student Phonathon campaign.  This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is interested in advancing in the world of fundraising and development work.  This position reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and supervises the Coordinator of the Tusculum Fund.  The position does require evening and weekend work, as well as some travel.

Student Life Coordinator

Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic full-time professional to join our team as a Student Life Coordinator.  This position will report to the Associate Dean of Students and provide vision, strategic direction and supervision for the Department’s Life and Orientation programs. We seek an individual who can translate a keen understanding of current student development philosophy into effective programs, interventions and mentoring of students.  At Tusculum, we are re-imagining our student life programs and the person assuming this position will play an integral and creative role in this effort. Central to our efforts is the intention to create and facilitate distinctive, engaging conditions throughout the residential campus that intentionally increases a student’s capacity for cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal complexity in ways that are distinctive to a Tusculum education.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s is preferred. The successful candidate will be creative, thoughtful, and able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives, through a twelve-month live-in position in a tightly integrated team environment. The successful candidate will be able to reside in on-campus housing to support environmental management and emergency on-call roles.  Applicants must have a working knowledge of the theory and practice of student affairs management in a liberal arts college and of modern principles and practices of counseling and assessment with the ability to develop and implement short and long-range plans to meet department needs and goals.  Applicants must also have a strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and to the general public.

Facilities Management IV

Tusculum College is accepting applications for a Facilities Management IV.  This position reports to the Director of Facilities Management.  The successful applicant must be capable of performing semi-skilled and skilled HVAC work.  Preference will be given to the candidate possessing knowledge and experience in several other specialty areas, including electrical, plumbing, master carpentry, masonry, or other maintenance and construction skilled work on athletic facilities, College buildings and fixtures, including administrative buildings, staff and residential housing, and other institutional buildings for efficient operations.  Duties include inspecting, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, repairing, overhauling, new installations, and refitting with specialty areas and assist in all other areas.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Five years experience in a maintenance position, EPA universal certification a plus.  Candidate must possess strong organizational and analytical skills along with the ability to multi-task, and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Tusculum College is accepting applications for a Facilities Management Level III.  This position reports to Director of Facilities Management.  The successful applicant must be capable of performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, construction, painting, and installation. This position inspects, maintains and repairs the college’s building structures and fixtures for administrative buildings, athletic facilities, staff housing, residential housing, and other institutional buildings for efficient operations.

Facilities Management II

Tusculum College is taking applications for Facilities Management II.  This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining College grounds, athletic fields and facilities, administrative buildings, staff and residential housing, and other institutional buildings.  Candidates must be able to walk extended distances and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and possess a valid Drivers License, and have a minimum of two years experience cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds Candidate must be able to withstand exposure to hot/cold temperatures and outside weather conditions, and must be flexible with schedule in order to cover events/activities, emergencies, etc.

Facilities Management I

Nursing Lab Coordinator

DESCRIPTION:

The School of Nursing at Tusculum College is seeking a Bachelor degreed Nurse with 2 years experience in an acute care clinical setting to provide clinical and simulation laboratory instruction to nursing students and maintain the working condition of the nursing and simulation labs and equipment. This position will be responsible for planning, initiating, directing, and facilitating activities in the nursing and simulating labs as well as collecting and collating data related to student learning outcomes. The Nursing Lab Coordinator is to be committed to excellence in teaching and is expected to contribute toward the good of the College through the maintenance of expertise in the discipline, and sharing time and talents with the larger College community.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred qualifications are an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing. Must have a current and unencumbered license, or be eligible for licensure as a professional register nurse in the State of TN. American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers also required. Experience in higher education and/or working with students and previous experience working with high-tech simulators are preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task. Ability to use technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning are desirable.

Must be able to travel to clinical sites and different campus locations, pass drug screening and extensive background check, lift 30 pounds or more, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, and perform all nursing skills competently, correctly and safely.

Director of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Services

The Director of GPS Services reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing/Director of Graduate and Professional Studies and works with Enrollment Management staff and faculty to coordinate academic programs related support services on the Knoxville and Morristown sites and to develop and meet student enrollment and retention goals for the Knoxville and Morristown sites. The Director of GPS Services coordinates with the Director of GPS Enrollment, the ARCHES program director, and the Knoxville Library Administrator to assure seamless provision of services to the students and faculty assigned to the Knoxville and Morristown sites. The Director of GPS Services is responsible for oversight of all operations, including facilities; security and support services of the Knoxville and Morristown Regional Centers of Tusculum College. The Director of GPS Services collaborates with the Director of GPS Enrollment to represent Tusculum College to key business, industry, community leaders and community college faculty, staff and administration and to promote and schedule community events and meetings on the Knoxville and Morristown sites. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Successful candidates must have experience in supervising staff in an educational setting, and at least five years’ experience with increasing responsibility in academic leadership in higher education, preferably in private higher education in enrollment or administration of an off-site campus. Qualifications also include demonstrated experience or knowledge of accreditation processes and products and experience collaborating with faculty and staff to meet goals and outcomes.

The School of Business and Technology at Tusculum College invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting. This is a full time faculty position primarily focused at our Greeneville, Tennessee main campus location. Tusculum College provides a liberal arts education in a Judeo-Christian and civic arts environment, with pathways for career preparation, personal development and civic engagement.
