Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic results-oriented Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences, which offers undergraduate degree programs in the natural and social sciences as well as the humanities.    Tusculum College, a Presbyterian USA, liberal arts, coeducational institution located in Greeneville, TN, is a scenic 140-acre campus nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with three off-site locations in Knoxville, Morristown and Kingsport, TN.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

The Dean of Arts and Sciences shall provide innovative, collaborative and visionary leadership; promote the mission and strategic priorities of Tusculum College; coordinate the assessment, development and delivery of new and existing degree programs in the School; manage various administrative duties, including curricular oversight, budget preparation, faculty and staff hiring, development and evaluation, student recruitment and retention, oversight of the annual assessment processes for all academic programs, and represent Tusculum College and the School of Arts and Sciences to all constituencies.

Preferred qualifications are an earned doctorate degree (or in process) in a discipline or academic degree area within the school from an accredited institution and five years of successful  administrative/teaching experience that includes direct faculty supervision, demonstrated knowledge and experience in academic program development,  grant writing and the promotion of faculty development in teaching, scholarship and service.  Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree with a major in a discipline area within the School from an accredited university and three years full-time experience in teaching and administration.

Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College Athletic Department is seeking applicants for an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. Tusculum College is a member of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference. The ideal candidate will have assistant coaching experience preferably at an NCAA institution and will report directly to the head soccer coach.  This position will perform instruction of soccer related skills and strategies to student-athletes while assisting with the coordination of the recruiting process.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree is preferred with three to five years of collegiate coaching experience.

Candidate must be mobile, able to stand, work on feet, communicate verbally, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.  Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage daily office operations in the areas of recruiting, travel, skill instruction, camps/clinics, film exchange, and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach, which includes, but is not limited to the following;

  •  Assist head coach with practice activities
  • Assist head coach with competition and game-day related activities and duties
  • Coordinate practice log process
  • Fulfill recruiting needs identified by head coach
  • Serve as liaison to visiting team
  • Coordinate NCAA Clearinghouse process for incoming freshmen
  • Supervise upkeep of soccer locker room
  • Supervise work study students

Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management

Academic Records Specialist

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking applicants for a full time Academic Records Specialist. The primary responsibility of this position is to address inquires (in person, telephone, fax and email), process class registrations and transcript requests, post and monitor grades, complete enrollment verifications, process withdrawals, and maintain the office budget. The position will also assist with graduation, management of academic records, supervision of student workers, as well as clerical support in the Registrar’s Office. This position works closely with members of the Registrar’s Office on assigned projects, and will support and promote the mission of Tusculum College to all faculty, staff, and students, and to the community at large.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate’s degree is required with a minimum of two years experience in a professional office environment. Programmer Analyst

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College’s Office of Information Systems is seeking applications for a full-time Programmer Analyst.  The primary responsibility is to work with the various departments at Tusculum College to customize reports and pull data from our management information system, Colleague. This position will work directly with our Webmaster / Software Analyst to complete various web-programming projects that will enhance the efficiency of all Tusculum operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. 3 years of programming / development experience is required. Candidates must have development experience in a LAMP environment. Must have some experience using Microsoft development tools and SQL reporting services. Qualified candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills, an outgoing personality, the ability to work independently, and as part of a team, a flexible attitude, and ability to adapt to change. This position requires a strong work ethic to be successful.

Evening Admission Data Processor

DESCRIPTION: 

Tusculum College’s Office of Admission is seeking applications for a full-time an evening Admission Data Processor.  The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by provide data entry support, transcripts evaluation for high school student transcripts and basic clerical duties.  This position requires the individual to sit and stand, stoop and bend for extend periods at a time, wear a headset, have manual dexterity and be able to lift 25-30 lbs. A strong work ethic is mandatory.  The position is located at the Tusculum College, Greeneville, TN campus.   The hours are Monday-Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required, however it is imperative that the person selected for this position be flexible.  The starting date is projected for November 17, 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate for this position should have previous office experience.  Excellent oral and customer services are mandatory.  Good record keeping and organizational skills are required.  Advanced knowledge of computer programs and software a must with strong data entry skills, ability to work independently but also as a team, strong work ethic is imperative.  Ability to work under pressure, be flexible with positive and winning attitude is needed to be successful in this position.  Associates degree required, Bachelors preferred.

Telecounselor

The Office of Admission is currently seeking three telecounseling positions to work evenings 16-20 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to represent Tusculum by contacting prospective students of the College to educate them about scholarship opportunities and other important aspects of the admission process. This position requires the individual to sit for long periods at a time and wear a headset. The hours are Monday –Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, occasional weekend work may be required. The starting date is projected for October 1, 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

The candidate for this position should have previous office experience and strong data-entry skills with the ability to multi-task. Articulate oral communications skills and customer service skills are mandatory. Candidate must be able to successfully complete phone calls wearing a headset, have good recordkeeping and organizations skills, and advanced knowledge of computer programs and software. Facilities Management I

Tusculum College is taking applications for Facilities Management I.  This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining College buildings and grounds and may be required to walk extended distances and lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.

Faculty is expected to engage in and contribute toward the good of the College and its community through the maintenance of expertise in the Discipline and by sharing time and talents with the larger College community.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Applicants should have earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university. Applicants should hold a current and unencumbered license, or be eligible for licensure, as a professional registered nurse in the State of Tennessee; hold current American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers, and successfully clear criminal background and drug screening assessments.

Graduate & Professional Studies Adjunct Faculty

The Graduate and Professional Studies program of Tusculum College seeks qualified adjunct faculty for the following teaching positions listed below.  GPS offers non-traditional, accelerated, adult-oriented classes. Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and are offered in the evening or on the weekends in upper East Tennessee.  Prior experience with adult students is preferred as well as experience teaching web-enhanced courses using an on-line course delivery system. 

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Early Childhood Education – Terminal degree and emphasis in early childhood education.  Additional qualifications of special education and teaching of young children with special needs is preferred.

Master of Arts in Education Programs - Organizational Training and Education and Human Resource Development Concentrations – Terminal degree with demonstrated professional accomplishments in the instructional systems design (ISD) functions are required.  Teach six week courses in Analysis of Instructional Needs and Performance Gap Analysis, Instructional Design, Evaluation of Adult Learning, Instructional Materials and Media.  

Master of Arts in Education Programs –  Curriculum & Instruction and MAT – Terminal degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Education, Special Education, Reading, English, Science, Math or Art and experience in an Elementary or Secondary Education classroom.
