Head Golf Coach

Tusculum College a member of the NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference is seeking applications for a Head Golf Coach. This position will implement and manage all phases of a competitive Division II program in accordance with NCAA, Conference, and Tusculum College regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred. Upward Bound Counseling Specialist

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is currently accepting applications for an Upward Bound Counseling Specialist. This is a 12-month, full-time position requiring some evening and weekend work. This position provides educational and career guidance to high school students in Greene, Unicoi and Washington counties as part of a program designed to encourage high and college completion. Duties include identifying, recruiting and selecting participants; collecting and maintaining data; conducting small group sessions; designing and participating in program activities (some of which entails physical exertion); collaboration with school personnel and parents. This individual must have a commitment to the philosophy and goals of the program and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in counseling, psychology, education, social or behavioral science or related field. The successful candidate must have experience and familiarity with disadvantaged student populations. Preference will be given to candidates with previous TRIO experience and/or guidance, educational and/or career counseling as well as experience in overcoming barriers similar to those facing the target population.

Assistant Football Coach

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

The School of Nursing, Health Sciences and Human Services at Tusculum College is seeking applications for a full-time nursing faculty member for the undergraduate nursing program beginning August 2017.  Applicants should be committed to student success and excellence in teaching. Nursing Preferred:  Preferred qualifications are an earned doctorate degree in Nursing, or a related field, from an accredited institution, three years full-time college teaching experience that demonstrates excellence in teaching and student success, teaching experience with online and hybrid classes, and experience with regional and programmatic accreditation.   If applicant holds a doctorate in related field, master’s degree must be in nursing.

 

Nursing Minimum:  Minimum qualifications are an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in nursing from an accredited college or university.  Applicants should hold a current and unencumbered registered nurse license, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee; hold current AHA BLS certification, and should successfully clear a criminal background check and drug screening assessments.  If applicants hold a master’s degree in nursing, he/she should be willing to continue their education by earning a doctorate in nursing.

Financial Aid Support Coordinator

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Financial Aid Support Coordinator. This position is responsible for all financial aid administrative tasks including, but not limited to, analyzing eligibility, awarding, file verification preparation, document tracking, communication workflows, ISIR review, file organization and auditing, and all other non­ counseling financial aid tasks. The Support Coordinator will assist with various internal, athletic, federal and state reconciliation and/or certification efforts, processing of origination and disbursement records, daily file imports and exports, event preparation, and coordination of communication outreach efforts. Works in a proactive manner and utilizes problem solving skills to promote accurate and timely processing of aid while maintaining mandatory compliance with internal policies, as well as, state and federal guidelines and laws. Coordinator provides the necessary counseling support to students and their families on how to cover the costs for  a Tusculum  College  education, including  all  sources  of  assistance  and  the  delivery  system  for financial aid. This is a full time position supportive of enrollment growth for traditional aged and adult students on the Greeneville campus, and two approved off-site locations in Knoxville and Morristown. This position requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and strong coordination and communication with various offices including the Business Office, Registrar, and Athletics. Requires a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service, be a team player and the ability and willingness to travel to each of the off-sites for student outreach events. Bachelor Degree is preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education, experience or training in financial aid or higher education can be substituted for the bachelor’s degree. Assistant/Associate Professor Education and Chair of Teacher Preparation

Tusculum College School of Education invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Education and Chair of Teacher Preparation. This is a full-time position that combines leadership of the Teacher Preparation Department and teaching at the College’s main campus in Greeneville, TN and the other off-site locations in Knoxville, and Morristown. As leader of the teacher preparation academic programs, the Department Chair is responsible for the overall direction of the programs.  Attuned to the institutional and societal contexts affecting current and potential programs within the unit, the Department Chair coordinates and motivates the efforts of program coordinators and faculty to respond creatively to these contexts.  The Chair ensures the effective implementation of the department’s goals through allocation and management of resources, appropriate initiatives for external funding, and evaluation of the quality of programs and related services.  The Chair schedules and presides over regular meetings of faculty teaching in the department and programs associated with the department.  The Department Chair is responsible for coordinating activities by members of the faculty to promote student recruitment and retention.

The Department Chair works with the Dean to coordinate the use of budgeted funds to ensure appropriate staffing within the department (e.g., balance of full-time, part-time, and overload) and provide information regarding areas within the department that requires additional staffing.  The Chair coordinates course offerings within the department to meet the instructional needs of the department as well as ensure the course offerings are scheduled in a manner that benefits students completing programs.

The Department Chair ensures that department and program planning is consistent with the missions of the institution and the School of Education and evaluates the assessment efforts of the department and programs to ensure that results yield meaningful information which is used in ongoing planning.  The Department Chair works closely with the Dean and faculty in recommending and implementing program improvements.

In addition to Chair responsibilities, this position will be responsible for developing and teaching face-to-face and online courses for traditional aged and adult students. Some of the classes will be taught in the evening for the Professional Studies Adult Education program. Tusculum College is primarily a teaching institution, and applicants should be committed to teaching excellence. Student Life Coordinator

Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic full-time professional to join our team as a Student Life Coordinator.  This position will report to the Associate Dean of Students and provide vision, strategic direction and supervision for the Department’s Life and Orientation programs. We seek an individual who can translate a keen understanding of current student development philosophy into effective programs, interventions and mentoring of students.  At Tusculum, we are re-imagining our student life programs and the person assuming this position will play an integral and creative role in this effort. Central to our efforts is the intention to create and facilitate distinctive, engaging conditions throughout the residential campus that intentionally increases a student’s capacity for cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal complexity in ways that are distinctive to a Tusculum education.

The successful candidate will be creative, thoughtful, and able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives, through a twelve-month live-in position in a tightly integrated team environment. This position also serves as advisor for Tusculum Military Assistance Group (TMAG), and pursues and secures veterans’ affairs funding opportunities for veterans’ programming, as well as, representing Tusculum College as member of East Tennessee Military Affairs Council (ETMAC), and supervising the Veteran’s Administration (VA)-funded work-study participants.
