Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities include working to assure safety and welfare of students, staff, faculty, invitees, and visitors on campus property, in campus facilities, and at institutional events by enforcing campus policies and regulations as set forth by the University. Tusculum is seeking applications for a full-time Registrar.  This Registrar’s position reports to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.  The Registrar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Adult and Online Studies and traditional student registration and records, grade processing, graduation certification, athletic eligibility and veteran’s administration.  The Registrar directly supervises four full-time employees, and will support and promote the mission of Tusculum University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large.

Intern Athletic Trainer

Tusculum University is seeking applicant for two Athletic Training Internship positions. These positions are designed to support Tusculum’s 600+ student-athletes competing in 22 sports while providing the opportunity to gain experience as an entry level Certified Athletic Trainer.

Primary responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the athletic training program and performing other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Athletic Director. Sport responsibilities may include Track and Field and/or Tennis. Final primary sport responsibility will be determined during the interview proe4ss and will be based on experience. Some team travel as well as night, weekend, and holiday work will be required.

These positions will be 30 hour/week for 36 weeks from approximately January 7th to May 24th and may be renewed for an additional year. These will be considered part time positions.

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA (or its predecessors) accredited physician assistant program
  • Certified by the NCCPA
  • Tennessee license or license eligible – must obtain license within 18 months of hiring
  • Graduate degree from a US regionally accredited institution (master’s required, doctorate desired). Master’s degree from PA program is acceptable.
  • 3 years of PA education experience
  • 3 years of PA clinical experience, primary care desired
  • Eligible for appointment at the Senior Instructor Level

College of Health Sciences – Optometry Program Founding Faculty

DESCRIPTION:

Tusculum University is currently seeking faculty for its College of Health Sciences – Optometry Program. Candidates should be passionate and experienced regarding classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of professional optometric serves. These positions will be responsible for course preparation which will include lecture and laboratory presentations as well as student testing and evaluation, participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation, providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed, traditional scholarly activity and University service, and provide health care to patients at the Tennessee College of Optometry clinics.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements include an O.D. and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a discipline related to optometry or its associated basic sciences. Optometrist applicants should be eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee and are expected to participate in patient care services. The successful applicant will have excellent organization, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Must be able to travel between different locations and/or clinical sites as needed
